Good day BAs! Off to a rainy start here in NW PA - good for every growing greenish thing. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

OK - heavy on the Simcoe or at least the Simcoe holds up better than the Centennial hops.

Have a good Tuesday. I bought Assassin’s Creed Origins off Epic games store last night for $8. I had an additional $10 Ubisoft coupon I got from getting Rainbow Six Siege, Far Cry 3, and Rayman Legends in the last few weeks. Also got another coupon today, so I will probably get Odyssey as well. This game is amazing, reason I got it was the best metacritic scores. This is just as fun as Witcher 3, but instead of Roach you get a camel. I was stuck in a tomb for an hour in the beginning after I killed the prologue mini boss, but I am in the story now. Got to my first mini puzzle, I can tell this game is going to be something special. Gotta do side quests to level up for the next quest in the main story right now.

2nd Shift Conjunctivitis. Outstanding NEIPA. Nice hazy pink/orange color. Solid fluffy head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, cranberry, strawberry, hibiscus, citrus peel/zest, wood, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and hibiscus tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; creamy/bready/grainy malts; light sticky hops and hibiscus tang in the mouthfeel. Slight lingering resins/rinds. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 5.5% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Zythos profile. Very juicy/vibrant hops/hibiscus, with light dank/earthy notes; with a nice lactose and pale/wheat malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Really spot on stuff! 4.15

Baffin DOC. Excellent DIPA. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, red apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9%. Feels like Hallertau Blanc and Nelson Sauvin. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; with a nice sized bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on Midwest style DIPA. 4.03

One of my morning standards; up too early today. But got some paperwork done, so this is my chill with DbC moment. Have a great Tuesday. Or 2nd day. Or middleweekday. Whatever.

not here to start a political debate. Just sharing some info since you are in France. Don’t have to care just speaking. Last night, what was said was “heavily armed military will dominate the streets to stop the protests, looting rioting etc..... and if governors do not use the national guard then the military will come in and do it for them”. Not an exact quote but on fringes of what was said and to be honest as someone who has watched this all unfold especially violent in my city, if martial law is enacted for the first time ever may I add over a civil rights protest, there will be a revolution. I’ve watched police in riot gear with my own two eyes knock people standing with their hands up over and when somebody went to pick them up they caught the ground as well and a baton. I won’t get into it. The violence needs to stop.

You’re a good lad, urk but there was no intention from me to start a painful political debate about this all. There are other corners of the internet to discuss these issues but here we are trying to enjoy our beer and find some relief between us chatting. Cheers, stay safe all.

I understand and didn’t think you were starting one. I will say no more on the subject and instead I’ll be at the protests in person. If need be you may remove my reply no hard feelings. Cheers to you.

Just killed the first big target for the story in AC Origins, so I am making some good progress. I usually just use my bow and take off heads, but the rare war hammer I got from the blacksmith is pretty sick for close combat.

Lansing Velvet Villain. Awesome imperial porter. Solid head retention/minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/velvety/bready malts, light slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.2%. Awesome well rounded rich malts/oat complexity; with solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering hop/char dryness. Really big fan! Leaning to an English style, but not too strong. Would buy again. 4.1

Just finished watching Michael Moore's great documentary Planet of the Humans. Sad, but not surprised it has now been censored by alphabet's youtube, but you can still watch on Vimeo.

Picked up a 15 pack of Founders, under $1 a can four weeks old, yes please.

An excellent pour. Sending a message of love to each and everyone of you today.
