Good Morning Beer Advocates! Hope all is well with you and your loved ones, and hope you have a nice cold beer or two at the ready to enjoy another great day to be alive.

My first pour for today is a "local" (a little over a marathon from my house), Hailstorm Brewing's Prairie Madness.

Glad I gave this another try, I like this batch more than my first go. It reminds me of Bell's Hopslam, with similar taste and texture qualities. One reason for the higher quality may be the fact The Beer Temple stores beers which should be cold cold upon delivery. This makes a big difference, unless you are picking up something on drop day. Another reason to give your local brewers and high quality stores your business to ensure the freshest quality beers.

    Cheers!

Have a good Wednesday. I went to Meijers yesterday and got some food, but also picked up a foam legged phone tripod for $15(rest of the electronics section was a wasteland). I also got a $5 app to use my smartphone as a webcam. After about 15 minutes of troubleshooting, I got everything working. Then I downloaded OBS Studio(free) and had to figure out how to get the sound to work with the ASIO drivers. I did 2 test runs with my guitar and cam, and finally got everything going perfectly with the sound. I had a side by side shot with me on 8 string guitar, and a Guitar Rig 5 window streamed to facebook. Just me noodling around and changing settings/effects. Then I streamed myself playing Far Cry 3 for an hour. Going to need to buy a better mic though, as I was getting some decent background noise to have the game and me on equal levels. Will definitely take some tweaking. Overall an amazing experience with the OBS Studio, with only minor issues regarding settings.

New Holland Poet's Brunch Stout. Awesome stuff. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, cinnamon, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy/silky/velvety/bready malts; light sticky spice and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 9% or cinnamon heat after the finish. Awesome balanced rich malts, cinnamon, maple, and vanilla flavors; with solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Really big fan, amazingly well balanced. Nothing overwhelming. Glad I got the 4 pack at the corner store. 4.13

Good day BAs! Off to a late start today - slept in a bit - got up at 0700 when Mrs. Lizard's alarm went off rather than my usual 0530-0600 time. Guess the heavy cloud cover screwed up my chicken alarm genes. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Good morning BA
Off work for 4 days as off 0600 this morning. Thanks to @beertunes for sending this genuine working man's beer at my request...

The clarity, color and head retention on this absolutely shames most craft lagers. That's where the high praise ends, but it's a drinkable pint. I may need one more before I nap.

    Cheers all!

Timehop popped up with the first beer I ever reviewed exactly 10 years ago today... Nikon Coolpix S5 then, Nikon D5100 now.

Urban Artifact Epicurean Peanut Butter, Banana, & Grape Jelly. Excellent sour. Poor head retention/not lacing as expected. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy concord grapes, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, peanut butter, banana, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, toasted bread malts; light pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy wheat, lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness; minimal pucker/astringency. Pretty refreshing, minimal warming 8.5%. Great balance of juicy/jammy fruit, PB, and lacto complexity; with a nice bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. No complaints. Tastes like the intended sandwich. 4

I've been wondering who on here used DSLRs or similar, versus phones or whatever. Nice photos.

This beer shocked me. It's a banana strawberry smoothie in a can. This might be the best slushy that 450 North has put out yet.

Elysian Night Owl. Amazing as usual, one of the best pumpkin ales I've ever had. Flavors of big pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, caramel, brown sugar, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal spice earthiness. Light balancing herbal/spice bitterness against sweetness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; bready malt creaminess and some spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying spice finish, no astringency. This is probably the most authentic actual pumpkin-fruit forward beer I have had, with an amazing balance of spices. Love it just as much as Pumking; but this has more Munich malt/pumpkin sweetness, and less intensely drying spice/seedy pumpkin presence. Top tier stuff for the style. Only been able to find it at Meijers the last few years, but I'll keep buying it.

Happy Thursday advocates. Hope everyone is keeping safe while doing the right thing during these trying times. @guinness77 inspired me to hit up district 96 and I'm glad I did. Forgot how remarkable their hop juice is. I would put them in my top 5 in NY. I swear I could drink this fuzzy math all day cheers

Pretty warm morning. Time for some coffee.

de Garde The Cafe - a 5.5% oak aged wild with coffee.

Yes, it's a bizarre one but the coffee beans are very subtle? It's mostly a really nicely balanced beer - mild tartness, funk, and a little sweetness dance together. But throughout, you taste something else that gives it an interesting depth, but can't quite put your finger on it. Once you know, it kinda makes sense. But I don't think you could decipher it otherwise.

    Pleasant surprise!
