Welcome to a new day, or the end of a previous day. Night owls and early birds converge, fighting over a beer, the loser settling for a worm. @RaulMondesi was a most gracious host at Club Raul, the only club in The World with Pliny the Elder Bottle Service, Top Shelf Hotties, World Class DJs and a Raul Mondesi statute.

It is sunrise in Chicago, or Nautical Twilight if you want to get technical. A perfect day is in order, and it starts now with this pour of Modern Times' Blazing World. West Coast IS THE BEST COAST, and So Cal the home of the best WCIPAs on the planet!!!

I have to be honest, Modern Times is one of my favorite breweries to visit in San Diego (AleSmith and Resident the only worthy challengers), but I always sit with my back to the Michael Jackson post-it note collage. Can't wait to get back, Demons and Corona Be Gone!!!

With that I bid you adieu, will finish this pour and take a nice long walk for some produce before returning for a nap and wherever life takes me on this Thursday (checked the Iphone, never sure on a weekday).

Hope the day takes you somewhere great, with an awesome beer (or three) in tow.

    Cheers!

[IMG] A day off from my regular job, but great beer needs to be sold later this afternoon in the New Hampshire Lakes Region. Cheers all and this is a different, but really tasty treat.

Another beer gifted to me by my boy Dingo. I figured at first that it was an IPA, but then I reached for the son of a bitch and saw that it was a Keller Pils. Hey, that’s ok with the Raul man. Shout out to that decrepit @vabeerguy - hey man, I’m drinking your shit! I think this beer is pretty damn good, to be honest - so hells yeah to those that are feeling it!

Ok, so it’s actually been a wild ass night at Club Raul. It was great to see first timer @jkblr up and getting wild in it. Then @tolar111 made an appearance and didn’t give a damn. I’m telling you, this guy is wild! Then last but not least, @dukeandduke chilled with me in the platinum VIP booth and we cheers the hell out of one another and had a good time. Now, I think tonight was a special night, so to end it with some Gas seems appropriate:

Have a good Thursday. I had a nice sleep after dinner until about 1AM. Played video games again tonight for a bit. Going to move forward with streaming/recording video games and guitar on my YouTube channel, so I can finally get that account out of the graveyard(2006 opened). I have 45 videos uploaded which are all related to homebrewing, including some taste evaluations of a recipe challenge I did with some YouTube people in 2013. I thought I had at least one jam video, but I guess I never uploaded it. I am going to buy some more audio equipment today. Mainly some computer audio cables and a USB condenser microphone. Time to get serious. Will get the homebrewing going again soon. On the plus side the mini phone tripod I bought works well with my DSLR, with the 35mm lens I always use, the center of gravity is great! (should have gotten a tripod years ago anyways)

Surly Garden Variety. Excellent hoppy kettle sour. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy strawberries, cherry, fruit skin/seed, orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, red/green apple, red grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, hay, straw, herbal, floral, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, toasted biscuit malts; light vanilla, pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang; and pine, herbal, floral, grassy, zesty bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, fruit tang/tannin, and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/tangy dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very smooth/soft, not overly lactic, minimal warming 9%. Great Citra hop profile. Very juicy/jammy hops/fruit, with light dank/earthy notes; with a nice sized wheat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. No complaints. 4

Good day BAs! The first load is in the dryer, the second in the washer, the white stuff is marinating, and I'm having a well-deserved New Breakfast Beer!

An excellent American barleywine (4.36) that's been sitting in my beer reefer since 7/8/19 - one of the few beers I've rated the same as the BA average. I was at my local distributor yesterday and noticed that Marty had a few of these still on the shelf - targets for later this afternoon if the fog has lifted enough for me to find the store.

I only grabbed a 4pk at the liquor store up in Seminole last week...I’ll call today to see if the King Sue arrived, and if yes, I see a beer run in my future - Cheers and have a great Thursday!

Thank you. It’s true that these new photos are very very neat. New iPhone is worth it, not even that pricey (to Apple’s standards). Cheers!

I got vMix premium up and running, now I can stream and record 4K; my DSLR is only 1080p30 though. Will see if I can get my 4K Galaxy to work with the software, rather have 1080p60 in my videos. Will definitely compare the pros and cons of vMix and OBS, because I loved OBS right out of the gate; but vMix has native DSLR support.

Almanac Unfiltered Opinion. Excellent hazy IPA. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 6.1% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Great Simcoe/Mosaic profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints. Loved the hop profile as expected. 4

Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Still tasting great. Flavors of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Crisp/drying finish and never astringent on bitterness. Amazing juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop profile; with a clean pale malt backbone. Refreshingly drinkable for an IPA. Simcoe, Citra, Mosaic hops this year. Used to have Equinox for years, but I guess they couldn't find much this year. Almost finished these off.
