I lied, they (Portage Park) are still closed. I knew they closed it on Sunday and Monday, but thought it reopened. Rats.

I read that they're up to 11 stores in the Chicagoland area are closed indefinitely. The good news is that they are promising that all stores will re-open.

Portage Park was preemptively closed, many others were vandalized and looted. The Elmwood Park and Niles stores are open.

The Portage Park location is the site of a former bank (Northwest Federal Savings) I went to as a kid. The location was also one of the many businesses identified in the Ed Burke political scandals. Not sure if that location will make it long term. It's a shame Fischmans couldn't make it.

Sure thing - middle is American Cheese, as is proper with a green chile (cheese)burger. The other elements are cheddar, to spill over the edge. My wife likes a little X-cheese, and we kinda got hooked on skirted cheeseburgers (from The Region in Roscoe V) so there it is.
Cheers, and may you find that penny soon!

I am a native of northwest Indiana, aka...the Region, so I 100% understand. Thanks for the great pics!

That place was addictive; we discovered it rather late, but Au Cheval and The Region became our two fave places for very different burgers. I do love Mott St. and Owen & Engine too.
    cheers...

The beverage director of Mott opened up his own cocktail house with his mentor and beverage director of Longman & Eagle. It opened up in Glen Ellyn about 18 months ago. Best cocktail bar in the west suburbs alongside Niche in Geneva. I know we were talking burgers but Mott is a cocktail house at heart, so I figured id tangent off this. “Common Good” is the name, a company worth supporting if you live in the western burbs.

Hey, thanks man, if I'm ever in G.E. I'll check 'em out -- but I can only get to Chicago 1-2 x a year in good normal times. Not sure what this COVID era will do to my visits, but it's not been favorable so far. Can't wait to return and visit. Cheers - E

Ended up grabbing some BHA yesterday. It’s still a very enjoyable beer, but there is definitely a noticeable softness now. It doesn’t ruin it for me as much as I initially expected, but it drop about .25 points on my rating scale compared to last year. I also can understand how others could enjoy it more because of the softness, so just different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, I agree with all this. I'm in the mood for something softer after all the lagers the past month, but like (I think) I said on Untappd, I absolutely get it being a letdown for some.

On the other hand, Fader is year-round, so you win some, you lose some!

I'm not sure there's any alcohol in Fader. With how smooth it goes down I refuse to believe there's any in it.

This is a completely true statement. I open a can, then I’m like “shit, that’s empty already?”

Can't wait to try Fader; should show up in the next drop here in Colorado. @habc_me - any kind of predictable seasonal schedule for this?

True, it's awful out here. Like... Fury Road, or Book of Eli. Just shit. Nothing out here. No mountains, no water, no breweries. Oh wait... that's Nevada.
