Today is Sweden’s National Day. It’s not a day that is celebrated as much as in other countries, but I am proud to be a Swede. Starting today with Jordgubbstårta by Kvarnagårdens and Bronx, a blonde ale made to resemble the most Swedish of baked goods, the strawberry cake. Cheers, all!

Glad Midsommar, @JamFuel and enjoy the holiday which seems to confuse most Swedes. Celebrating what? Defeating the Danes 500 years ago? Skål!

Related but Bastilles day this year will celebrate all health workers, from the care assistant to the PhD Doctors. Mad respect for them, all banter aside, they have done an incredible job over the last four months, and many here have lost their lives as a result.

    Rodenbach Classic, Cheers all!

Have a good Saturday. I bought an Audio Technica USB Mic/Studio Headphone bundle and a Midi Commander footswitch board off Reverb yesterday. Both sellers already have the labels ready to ship out today. I can’t wait to use both of them. Also got a copy of Doom 2016 and Mortal Kombat X off of a third party discount site for $5 each, activated on Steam. Still plenty of game sales going on right now. I played Unravel for a couple hours(puzzle platformer style game). Going to do more Mechanic simulator as well.

Old Nation M-43. Amazing NEIPA as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, zesty, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; very creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats, and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank/juicy hops, with perfect wheat, oat, malt malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness, amazing soft feel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is better than most anything else I've had in the state. DDH is just as impressive; but a bit more bitter, resinous, dank, and earthy.

I've been listening to this song a lot. Pretty much have it memorized now, just need to finish up learning the riffs.

Going very local for #2, with Haze Ways by RajRaj. They embrace the teachings of John Kimmich, and tell you to drink from the can. So I will, except for a splash in a glass to get a look.

Watching the best sitcom ever made, in my opinion. Coupling, the British one, obviously.

Good day BAs! Off to a sunny start this morning - gotta till later and maybe mow as well. Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I've often seen on WBAYDN but never had the opportunity to try until now:

At three months old it's mostly dank but still pretty decent (3.91).

Mikkeller San Diego Haze Cadet. Excellent NEIPA. Great lasting fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness; no hop astringency. Nicely smooth/soft, not overly aggressive; minimal warming 7% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Feels like Galaxy, Hallertau Blanc, Nelson Sauvin. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints. 4.03
