Central Waters Barleywine Brewer's Reserve (2017)

 

I had two “new” to me beers on deck for today b/c of their obvious base similarities...both beers I traded for over the last year plus, and have been looking forward to drinking...Beer number 2 - Westbrook’s Mexican Cake Red Wine Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (2016):



The delicious base is enhanced by the Napa cabernet barrel aging as the barrel adds dark fruit/grape flavors increasing the layers of flavors complimenting the whole. A wow! beer...working on notes for NBS. Drink strong “bar mates”!

 

Sparklepuff Triple IPA from Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery. These guys used to be known as the Robert Simpson Brewing Company and produced nondescript beers reflective of that name. Since rebranding, they have decided to “go for it” and have produced some really nice beers. This might be their best and is heavy on peach flavour. Highly crushable considering it’s 10.2% ABV.

 

Windmill Three If By Citra TIPA. Really damn good. Windmill has definitely improved.

 

Last day off for awhile, enjoying a light one first.

 

First time with a pseudo sue variant, this being the Mosaic dry hopped version.

 

They have to go though Ma. to get to Vermont and NH. Why not stop there?

 

Seriously...friggin Oregon and ALASKA but not Washington...WTF!?

 

Not sure but maybe different liquor laws are involved.

 

I guess.

Super breezy and in between rain squalls, so I grabbed a beer and the puppy for some outside backyard time - Jai Alai:



A boatload of rain has drenched us the past few days, the spin offs from the tropical storm in the Gulf ... the neighborhood lawns look lush, and my little garden is flourishing ... gusty, coolish (86) moments like these keep the mosquitos at bay such that I enjoy drinking outside in the summer (my first in 6 years) here... Cheers and enjoy your summer spaces!
