Does any craft brewery you know of still use either a bomber or 750 format for the majority of their production? I remember the days when these were two prevailing formats and very popular. I haven't seen a Stone bomber, Alesmith bomber/750, or Bruery 750 in a long time.

Bruery still does them. Jester King as well. They are definitely much more rare these days though

Thinking that the proliferation of crowlers and growlers in so many retail locations may be adding to their decline.

Angry Chair, and Perennial come to mind still using 750ml. Bottles. Arkane, Hidden Springs, and Westbrook using 22oz bombers for their stouts. Cycle just started filling 375ml bottles to move some of their left over TBBW beer, otherwise lots of 22oz bombers left for sale at the brewery (except Wednesday). Cheers!

Damn, really thought this was going to be a debate between bombers and 750ml portions.
Oh well, a guy can dream.

Hill Farmstead still does a lot of 750s

It all depends on the style of course. Lambic wouldn't be proper in anything less than 750 ml, saisons as well. But an imperial stout? No more than 22 oz, thank you just the same

I believe victory still uses them and some small breweries like Manafirkin and Ship Bottom do for special annual releases in ocean county.

Yay! Ok, well this is where I would just go for the 750 ml portion. Why? It's only 25.3x ozs. versus 22 oz
So I can split that 750 ml and pour plus-sized imperials, one for me, one for X - perfect.

But getting 11 oz of whatever? Feels cheap to me.

I just find 22 oz an awkward-as-hell size for... well, just about anything.

I see larger format bottles of beers like Stella Artois and Guinness Extra. Are these 22oz ?

Unsure, Urk. Since I don't buy those beers all that often, in the larger format, couldn't tell ya.

Saison is my favorite style and I know the term is very broad but regardless I don’t mind buying a cork and caged, large bottle saison be it Fantome of DuPont no matter the brewer. Most are around $12 on average which is not a lot given it’s about 2-3 pours but I do wish I can find saison in sixers or 4s more easily due to more pours and typically around same cost because you can really throw them back easily.

I was lucky that Flying Fish one of NJs biggest brewers had their Farmhouse ale in sixers in their core line up but I haven’t seen it in a while they’ve seemed to move into sours and hazy ipas now it’s a shame for this reason. I am fully aware DuPont is beyond the reach of what I’ve had from US brewers.

I think larger formats are good for aging and special occasions even tradition but If I was a brewer I’d see this saison/Belgian Pale situation as something I’d take advantage of.

Didn't they switch to 375mL like most of the bottling beer world? At least this year's versions of ZuurPruim, Peche 'n Brett etc did.

Even though they’re shifting towards four packs, 3 Floyds still has a bunch of bombers out there for specialty stuff (Behemoth, Blot Out the Sun, DL, BA sours, etc.)

Almost every Belgian brewery still does 750s. Great Lakes does 22oz for barrel-aged series. Sierra Nevada still makes the big boys of SNPA and Torpedo. I still see some Avery and Cascade large-formats floating around.

We have a few locals that have used bombers, but they've been switching to 16oz cans.

No, they found a new ruse...the silver can...which makes everything taste better and guarantees a price per can minimum of 4.99. Brilliant!

    Oh and re: OP.

de Garde still does 750mL for everything.

I wonder if Sante Adairius Rustic Ales also counts, but despite them releasing a bunch of 750mL bottles of their Saisons/wilds, I suspect their normal beer is a bigger bankroll in recent times.
