Hopefully by now we've all taken some time to thank the front workers-doctors-nurses-firefighters-garbage collectors-police, etc.

I personally would like to take some time now to thank those that have kept us sane through these crazy times. The brewery owners, waitstaff, bar owners and brewers that have worked behind the scenes to keep that magical potion (beer)flowing. Without them we would have been stuck drinking (gasp)supermarket beer.

So here in my hometown of troy I'd personally like to thank. First off MEG at Elixir 16 (in beautiful downtown TROY NY)for keeping us in those wonderful IPA's, stouts, sours and pilsners (her selection of wits and Belgians is a little thin at this time)THANK YOU!! Of course Jeremy at 518Craft (Shmaltz brewing) and his crew THANK YOU!! All the fine folks at Rare Form, for their delicious brews THANK YOU!! And last but not least those wonderful people at Brown's Brewing for the fine beers and fantastic food that have made these trying times bearable Garry and Kelly Brown, Carrie Harkin (for the great service), Niki Riston (for keeping the whole place going), Nigel, Matt, Scott, Kaylee, Ellie and anybody else that I have forget (hey I'm getting older and my memory is getting shorter) THANK YOU!! And for all the rest of the owners and staff that have been there for us a great big. THANK YOU and a hardy round of APPLAUSE!!!

I hope that the rest of you beer lovers out there will take some time to do the same for your local beer purveyors!

Hope to see you soon in the bars, bottoms up!!

Bringing this back into focus. Kudos to the OP. This country has been going through a :poop: show for the past three months and on the beer nerd end this is fresh air that I can't get enough of.

This isn’t over if they rush it though. “Restrictions lifted” but still necessary to wear masks (so still hazardous yeah?) which you know people will not. Good for those who can’t wait. Good for economy. Thank you to the workers. I’ve been working 6 days a week delivering produce myself since this started. But I don’t think we are done here.

    Good post.

I would thank all essential workers, and also those who complied with the guidelines from the WHO.

My area has been terribly affected and yet people were still trying to comply. I hope the worst is behind us now and we don’t have to expect some second wave later in fall.

My favorite uncle was a mortician/funeral director. In between he was a volunteer EMT, firefighter, local church deacon, and director of the local cemetary. Also a jack of all trades when it came to making sure a household worked.
The work morticians/funeral directors do is very important to giving families peace after a loved one passes, and y'all's work cannot be discounted.
He also joked about how he could've been a serial killer and no one would know because of all his roles, which just goes to show how much you need some sort of comedy when you deal with horrible things everyday to get through. Pretty sure he wasn't...

One of the biggest class of workers that people don't seem to be mentioned very often are dentists and dental hygienists. Their work is extremely essential but many dental procedures aerosolize a ton of the virus. They don't really have a choice except to work with an N95 and a face shield and hope that they don't pick it up via infected surfaces or when they remove their masks. Funeral directors also have it tough; despite worrying about the virus they have to deal with the mourning families and I assume they process has changed a bit due to worries the body may still be infectious.

That is not a profession that I had thought of but I'm sure It must be hard to go home to a family not sure if you are positively or not
    Thanks for bringing this up.

Folks this was not original a post to mention all the essential workers that kept us going but a forum for thanking the ones that choose to provide us with all the delicious brews that we so enjoy.

If I did not mention a specific front line worker I'm sorry. it was my intention to thank the staff that was there to keep the brews flowing, the food we love available, the doors open to all the places we love.
They did not do so because they had to, they did so to help us enjoy our favorite beverage.
So to keep this on topic let's say THANK YOU to the ones that kept the beer flowing!!

To all front line workers I do say THANK YOU for your service !!

Enjoy your next brew with the thought of those that were there by choice !

Please thank your local restaurant and bar workers
They would definitely appreciate it. and if you can afford it tip double

Please take some time to write about your local fantastic owners and staff, I'm sure that they would appreciate it and we would love to hear about them.
    Thanks again BIG BEER MAN
Hope to see you soon in the bar!!

I was back in Troy last summer and again last fall and it had changed greatly in the 20-ish years since I graduated from college at RPI. I definitely enjoyed Brown's Brewing and Rare Form but the hidden gem for me was Elixir 16 (I really found quite a few interesting beers there and service was great).
