This is pretty much how I feel with most DIPAs over $15 these days, but compared to NvU. The fact that you can get such a fantastic beer off the shelf any day for $10-$11 a 4 pack often makes me question why I purchase others. BHA is usually one that doesn’t disappoint me though.

I will say, for BHA's case, that it got better over the last 10 days. First one I had came off as too green and creamy. Now it's on point, like a bigger less malty version of Space (with cream).

Looks like Catch Hell howlers were available...and are already gone.

    FML.

EDIT: Baume is available as a crowler/howler option!

By the time I found out Vanilla Benthic and Catch Hell howlers were available online, they had been long gone. Do people just check their online store every morning to snag these?

They posted a story on their Instagram, so I saw that and checked availability which indicated it was in stock (I didn't order any but was curious).

That makes sense, I don't have Instagram. I just figured if I followed them on Twitter that it would be across all of their social media platforms - I was very wrong.

These days you need to follow all three FB/Twitter/Insta and enable push notifications and e-mail alerts etc... to have a chance.

I finally got to try Catch Hell a few days ago courtesy of @Jinx989 . Agree with everyone that this is a fantastic beer that is drinking excellent right now.

It might just be the breweries I follow but I'd say IG is the most important one, I feel like I don't see too many posting on just FB or Twitter at this point.

Might be a regional thing too. A lot of places in New England use Twitter. Tree House, Trillium, Bissell.... they are more active on Twitter.

This right here. IG is king when it comes to social media and beer. Can’t wait until BHA gets to my area of NY. One of the best IPAs there are.

Saw it by the register at Binny's so caved on a pack of Beer Hates Astronauts, which back in the day of bombers was the it beer for me each year in Chicago and I know it's lost its luster over the years, but I grabbed it because my wife enjoyed it last season drinking 3 out of my 4 pack...I got it home, had to separate the 4 pack to fit it in the fridge, pulled the first beer out of the plastic 4 pack holder and it started hissing and foaming...seriously? The can opened from pulling it out of the 4 pack holder? I will say that I drank this warm and way earlier in the day than I wanted to, but it was still a solid beer! Most impressed I've been with BHA in years!

Was worried about this year's BHA based on the early reviews and #hazeboi profile but I'm still really enjoying it. It's not too often I go back for multiple 4 packs but this just hits all the right notes for me. Of course this happens every year it comes out so I guess I should have learned by now

Double Vallejo release today (Thursday), regular Vallejo to be released soon.

Pilsner malt with an addition of flaked oats for increased body, Nelson, Comet, Sabro and Simcoe are all in..... Grapefruit shaved-ice with a coconut topper, it's not Vallejo, it's Sunset (double) Vallejo.

*fans of the Original, we'll have some for you soon

Hope the patio is open before we close the books on June.

I think this is Double Sunset Vallejo, not Double Vallejo. Sunset Vallejo is a variation on Vallejo having different hops I believe. From above, it seems Double Sunset Vallejo has Nelson, Comet, Sabro and Simcoe (more Sabro, yes!). Never had a chance to try Sunset Vallejo myself when it was released.

Trad-beer lovers, Half Acre has a Kolsch called Steve (?) available in howlers/growlers/kegs.

I love me some Kolsch. Don't love paying IPA prices for a Kolsch though

I actually had the same issue with the can spraying when taking it out of the holder (I think from then center of the can? Or maybe the seem?). I shot them a message, and they were super-responsive. I recommend sending the crew info in case it can help them troubleshoot the issue.

Mild interruption in your stream of discussion to simply add my appreciation for CROCUS.
Dear God that beer speaks to me. I really liked it a lot more than BHA, which I did not see coming. But for a DIPA, that isn't too sweet, balances old and new hops, and gracefully uses oats and wheat? Yes. YES YES YES. *end of transmission*

Crocus is amazing. It reminds me of a great Toppling Goliath beer packaged in Half Acre cans.
