I love their beer and the staff has been great when I have been there. It is a really nice place but I just can't justify the trip anymore when they moved to $20/ 4-pack.

New IPA this week is $18 and new DIPA is $19.

Yeah I was actually thinking about picking up some cans this weekend but now looking at the price point, doubt I will. I've only ever had a few of their beers and while they're perfectly fine that's a little steep

They are charging 20% more than special releases from the best breweries lol.

$18 for a single IPA? Glad this brewery isn’t on my radar.

For a 4 pack of 16 oz cans.

Riverlands is doing top notch work - their DDH Murkier Waters was one of the best beers I've had recently.

I'm in Geneva and they are one of three local breweries (Penrose and Energy City are the other two) that I'm trying to support as much as I can as I know all breweries are really hurting right now. Riverlands are good people and I really enjoy their beer. But this upward price trend on a lot of breweries' IPAs has me considering lower price point options.

Completely agree. Their Yellow Kayak Pilsner is very nice for the style. I plan on crushing a ton of them this summer.

I didn't love Murky Waters, so I was reticent to try Murkier Waters...I'm glad I bought a can, it was good!

Yeah, I assumed they were tall boys. That’s still ridiculous for a single IPA. IIPA is understandable. I’m not saying I wouldn’t support them if I were local, that’s just not something I’d ever go out of my way for with all other available options.

LOL these price points of IPAs nowadays make me so happy my taste buds have shifted away from IPAs to more mellower, and cheaper, beers.. although I supposed I do miss out on all this HYPE. Ditto for “some” of the barrell aged beers, nothing against em, but at some point a stout or barrell aged stout becomes too sweet for me especially with maple.. yuck (sorry fanbois :-).

Agree on price points, the market is saturated with hops, plenty of options. Riverlands makes fine beers but $18 for a non imperial IPA, yeah wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Penrose hops are under appreciated. Love some Dryft and the hazy program has become one of the sneakier options around

You guys are hilarious. P3 is charging $16.99 (plus tax) for a 6.5 abv ipa while Riverlands is charging $18.00 (flat) for a 7.2 abv ipa yet you all feel the need to jump on them about it.
I love the Chicago beer scene :joy:

What @Jagrmaister said. At least for single IPAs.

Crossed Paws is awesome. Not mad at the $18 purchase.

Orbital Velocity is what drew me in though. Haven't had many of their big stouts yet, excited to try this one.

Just saying that the pearl clenching is a little much. Plenty of other examples out there.

More power to them, I'm sure they'll do just fine. "Plenty of other examples" may be a bit of a stretch though (locally). But I won't press you on that list.
