Found a Brunch-Hero in the back of the beer fridge and hops have dropped off in exchange for pure orange juice. Acidic in a very wonderful way.

Hey all - I heard I got tagged in here a few times so apologies for not having the timely intel that I used to. Two things:

In January, I gave up my Head of Communications hat to focus solely on Finance/HR at Rev. So I’m no longer writing social media posts and responding to comments. I don’t deal with the details of the releases to the extent I used to.

I was also told by Beer Advocate leadership that my behavior on the site was self-promotional and violating their terms of service. As a result, I have not been making it a regular stop like I used to.

Ping me on Instagram anytime, but sounds like you’ve been getting quick responses from our team via email which is great to hear. I miss pouring you all samples in the driveway and hope to catch you when the time comes. Thanks for all the love.

    -Doug

I think most will agree with me, but this is utter BS. Nothing you do I would consider self promotional. We ask questions and opinions, and you give us the brewery’s perspectives.

As a CPA and a beer nerd, I especially enjoy your input as the CFO of the largest independent brewer in IL.

I personally will continue to follow you on Twitter, as I find most of your posts very insightful. Enjoy your time Pittsburg, and thank you for all you have provided us.

I've always wondered why every brewery doesn't just have a rep in their brewery's thread on BA. It would clear up so much stupid BS on these forums. I guess we have our answer.

I mean, we are in an economic down turn where people are forced to wear multiple hats as the work force reductions occur...you could probably cut a communications person and take back the role..I'm happy to perform the termination in exchange for Deep Woods beer and merch.

Sayyyyyyy whhaaaahhhh?!!! Everything I do on this site is self promotional (I've almost invented the first block chain beer, invest now before it's too late!). That sucks. You have been extremely informative and I'm not quite sure why it is okay for us to promote Rev by basically recycling info we find from your social media vs. you posting it directly...Bureaucracy- it's not just for government anymore! Too bad twitter didn't enforce non-factual, chest thumping.

I guess the free self-promotion would get in the way of the breweries who pay to have their press releases turned into threads for little to no engagement.

This is just really unfortunate. And that's all I'll say about that. Thanks for all the time you've taken to post, answer our questions, and BMA! It's been a great addition to the site IMO

    This.

What in the flying fuck??? I don’t even know how else to respond to this. What a goddamn joke.

    This. Over and over.

Doug and his shady behavior....helping out with one of the first “Ask Me” series on here. Raising money to help a children’s hospital. A total “me first” guy.

Ugh I had witty things to say but this is just stupid. @BeerCruncher - the community is better with you in it, and I have never seen a single post or sentiment here that suggests otherwise.

    @BeerAdvocate - be better

I should clarify that the feedback I got was not related to activity in this thread. I shared 3 blog posts of mine on the site between February and April that had an educational or conversational element for people who are industry curious. Additionally, in an early "All Together Beer" thread, I shared a youtube link to the video interview I did with the guy who came up with the idea because it seemed relevant. I viewed it as bringing content and the subsequent conversation to Beer Advocate, but it was deemed self-promotional and violating their terms. Here is the last one that I guess served as the straw that broke the camel's back: https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...raft-breweries-by-volume.637006/#post-6853593

This somehow makes their decision even worse.

I was going to say in response to a few previous posts that I cannot say you have NEVER promoted Revolution beers on here. You have in this thread, and prior Rev threads, shared your enthusiastic thoughts on Revolution beers. Always in a tasteful and, "you all should be excited to try this upcoming release" sort of way. It's technically self-promotion for Revolution but it hardly seems over the top and you always provide useful information about releases.

The fact that BA leadership is against industry people sharing their blogs, I sort of get, I guess. You are far from an average blogger given your industry knowledge though. Your posts make the community MUCH better. They even advertised an AMA you did if I recall. If you had typed your same thoughts/responses from the AMA into a blog and shared it, that would not make what you shared less valuable or self-promotion. If they let you share your blog though they need to explain to others who share their blog why yours is actually allowed vs. theirs not being. I kind of get it, but you'd think we could understand nuance here.

    A damn shame.

To be fair, I think Beer Cruncher's posts may have contributed to the recent societal unrest. I did see multiple protestors calling for their beer with shouts of "Revolution!"

Thank you for your update. I really love your blogs and interviews. I don't have registered accounts, but will save links and look forward to your future content!

You will continued to be missed here, one less reason to check in to BA.

A $45B hedge fund has binders full of women to pay and they don't come cheap. However, you will have to scroll beyond the officers and managing directors to find them.
