What would a red wax black magic go for? Half VR unit?

 

I sent over two higher rated Aslin stouts for an AdF, both parties were happy.

 

I'm interested in this as well. Nobody appears to trade older BM's. A recent trade post of a BM vert for SP bottles makes it appear they carry trade weight but I have my doubts.

 

Blue and green have carried "trade weight" for a good while now (discussions regarding intentional scarcity aside). Increasingly, I'm seeing red and silver join those ranks to a lesser degree.

I saw that post too and saw someone commented that it was "right on 'value-wise' but that trading up would require an overpay," which I'd agree with, I think.

Red is probably closer to .75 VRU (sigh, I'm sorry to perpetuate this silly measuring tool).

Yes I do agree on the blue and green especially considering their age and scarcity. It seems like the others are within reach. I get the feeling the BM's are considered bourbon to those who have them.

I believe he means that owners of those specific bottles require a premium over any preconceived value that others may have on the same bottles.

 

Gotcha. I don't have that impression (beyond the fact that people with older, more coveted bottles generally hold them in higher esteem than the general market might) (and full disclosure, I don't have any of these for trade myself, but have traded them in the past), but I could be mistaken.

Someone on FB unloaded a bunch for 150-190. Maybe that's driving the decrease. I also think it 2019 was a miss quality wise. Personal opinion.

 

All the BM are over valued by the traders FT. There was an increase in value about 6-8 months ago driven by 1 trader, trading bourbon for them. We all know who he is. He was "collecting" 12 sets. I scored a red for ~110 about 6 months ago. @JPick and I agree they are all worth around ~125 or 2:1 for Maman 18 or 19. But most voodoo traders value them twice that. Hope you score one. They are great brews but thinner than most. Just my 2 cents.

Interested in finding some info as I saw a Maman 15 posted FT and it got me curious. What's the value of Maman 15? For that matter, what's Maman 14 running at as well.

For reference, I saw someone post Maman 15 ISO For Gabe on another site. Wondering if it's in that price range. Any insight on this?

 

I would think you are spot on with FdF going 1:1, may need a small plus with KdF, although I have seen it going up recently.

 

I traded for a Green wax black magick years ago for a BL beer after not being able to land the blue. I wish I would have held on to it. It was great don't get me wrong and after having it I'd love to try other Voodoo beers. Aside from being difficult to land Voodoo at a reasonable price. Ive read lots of bad stories about boxes going missing on route to Pennsylvania. Don't know if this was just a phase but yeah... that green wax is going a wee bit high these days.

 

Anyone that hasn't already traded off their For Gabe is prob going to be shocked at how much less they will be able to get based off the early reviews I'm seeing. It's a moving target and hard to say where that year Maman is at because I haven't seen one offered up on her for a long time. They are prob pretty even at this point, if I could pick one id prob want that Maman.
