They’ve gone into overdrive this year. Their barrel house must be insanely huge now to accommodate for dropping all these barrel-aged beers as frequently as they have been recently.

On the one hand I hope it's Ghost Proton because that was my 2nd favorite of the preview beers from March after IO and is an easy max for me. On the other hand I hope it's Voltaic Stack because I hate banana and my wallet can get a 2 week break from constantly maxing out allocations.

For what it's worth, on Untappd there's already formal entries for both beers. Maybe it's a double release?

I may need to purchase one and trade for the other. Both sound great.

I’ll happily take your allotment LOL. I’m all aboard the banana stout hype train.

BL is describing it as viscous so I hope they are starting to make most of their future stouts with the double/triple mash. This does look like a winner especially when the bottle says "drink fresh" at that ABV.

BL puts “drink fresh” on anything with fresh fruit (and I want to say coffee) in it.

    * I’m surprised the Paisley Complex says cellar and save but I’ll go ahead and follow directions...

does anyone know why they don’t date their ipa’s? With their whole scientific logic theme, I would think that would be a staple of quality control. @bottlelogiclindsay ?

We were in the midst of trialing can coding machines before the world went weird -- hoping to get back into it shortly to make our decision and subsequent investment.

Anyone else try Voltaic Stack? Fiancee likes banana so I ended up buying my allocation anyway. I thought it was light on banana and a bit too heavy on the cinnamon. I could definitely taste the candied walnuts through the cinnamon/maple which was a nice touch. I'm curious to see what non-banana-haters think of it though since my opinion is tainted.

Had a bottle last night. The cinnamon and walnut dominated, banana was there but not as prominent as I was hoping. It’s still a damn good beer, has great flavors and a nice body. But as far as banana presence goes, it doesn’t even come close to Equivalent Dose.

It's funny, there is a guy on FB who says the banana is much better & prominent than in the bottle of ED.

how did your fiancee rate it, being a fan of bananas?

@bottlelogiclindsay any plans on reopening in the near future? Figured with your permanent food truck you guys are already a step ahead with the food / beer requirement. Tasting room might be a bit small for social distancing but perhaps outdoor parking lot area (similar to WOL) would be feasible. MISS YOU!!!

She had a similar opinion, way too much cinnamon, not enough banana. What banana flavor she did find, she liked, just wished there was more of it to combat the cinnamon/maple.

We miss hosting all y'all too!

We're remarkably fortunate to have a fairly stable operation running out of our "Stage Select" bay door. That stability affords us a bit of time to watch and research how reopening is working (and not working) across the industry.

Our Tasting Room was, let's say, "charmingly" undersized for the number of folks who've come to seek out our product at any given time. In the COVID-19 timeline, I'm reluctant to try to open that space again with critical social distancing measures while simultaneously operating the Stage Select to-go station that's keeping us afloat.

From a service standpoint, running two simultaneous-yet-separate methods of service poses enormous potential for guest confusion. Among many other major changes, we'd probably need to run a reservation system that would require lots of new rules and messaging for people to digest. My primary concern here is that in an attempt to provide more service options, we'd end up providing a tense, messy guest experience that is very much less-than our standard.

We've been banking guest experience equity for a long time, and we've been mostly stable throughout this weirdness because we've been able to withdraw from what we've earned there. It pains me to keep chipping away at our brand and our service standards and I'm so eager to start building that equity again. Rushing into something clunky and sub-standard isn't the way for us to achieve that goal, though.

From a financial standpoint, we're seeing most breweries triple their Tasting Room labor in order to provide more frequent in-depth cleaning and to adopt a table-side service model. If a socially-distanced footprint knocks us down to serving 1/6th of a pre-COVID-19 day's guest flow and we've tripled our labor costs... those numbers get pretty grim pretty quickly.

[On the WOL space suggestion: It's worth noting that the Licensed Premise Expansion regulatory relief was issued by the ABC, not the city of Anaheim. I'm not optimistic about the city allowing us to host guests in the WOL space for an extended period of time, and even so, that puts us back at the fourth paragraph of my TED Talk here.]

As we've experienced multiple times over the last few months, everything can change at a moment's notice. We're constantly evaluating our options and what's best for our team, our guests, and our business as each new challenge or provision pops up. We're so very, very grateful for the enduring support our community has shown throughout all of this and we can't wait to share a beer over the bartop in the not-too-distant future. :beers:

FANTASTIC in-depth reply! Thank you for the numerous insights. Really interesting to get inside the thought process of businesses during these crazy times and see how they zig and zag. Best of luck to BL ... I’ll keep waiting patiently and buying to go

Bottle Logic back at it again with Ghost Proton! I wasn't able to catch preview tastings, but it sounds like this marshmellow bomb was killer. Judging by the description, sounds like the mouthfeel is going to be on point.

Love the background story of where the name comes from as well.
