BA has always been, and continues to be an absolute joke.

Agreed. Def a beer I don't let sit in the cellar though. These went straight to the fridge. From my experience, cafe deth has been good up to 1.5-2 years. There is definitely a noticeable coffee drop off, but it is still delicious.

It's crazy to me that BA wants to widen the gap between breweries and their customers. He isn't here posting about merch and beer sales.

I think it's so cool to see breweries show up and talk to their dedicated customers.

Rev's communication and outreach is pretty damn good! We need it.
Info posted today regarding Supermassive pickup starting on Friday:

"Supermassive Café Deth pickups start this Friday, and it's almost time to revel in the magic of what barrels (and coffee) can do to beer given enough time and patience. Since the Supermassive release is our first Deep Wood Series event during the present circumstances, we wanted to lay out a few points to make things easier for everyone:

    - Remain in your vehicle during the entire transaction. We've designed this release for contact-free curbside pickup.

    - Everyone picking up must have ID and a preorder confirmation -- we aren't selling any four-packs on the day of release. Please have both ready to speed up service.

    - We don't need everyone to show up right at the beginning of the pickup window (seriously!) but please give yourself enough time to pick up during your window if there's a wait.

    - You'll need to approach the building from the north, so you're coming in heading south on Kedzie (do not approach from the south or via Roscoe).

    - If you're picking up for someone else, please note that proxies can pick up a maximum of 5 orders at a time.

    - If your proxy has a different pickup time from you, they can pick everything up in 1 trip so long as it's during their designated window.

    - If you're coming from out of town, or you experience issues getting to the Brewery during your window, let us know. Please give yourselves enough time and be safe.

    - Please be patient with us. Our retail team is a whole crew of nice people, and they want to get you your beer as quickly and safely as possible."

Now this is interesting: Revolution is treating Supermassive Cafe Deth with IPA-like freshness emphasis to maximize the coffee. Canned dates of 6/17/20 are so close to release date in a way the typical Deep Wood Series beers are not.

Whatever happened to that barrel aged rye stout they were supposed to release?

still in barrels I'd guess ... they announced it wasn't ready and needed more time, then the chain of liquor stores it was brewed in collaboration with got hit hard in the recent looting, and nothing has been said since then.

Agreed! Marty talked about this during the Friday ZOOM call a few weeks back - that this is a beer that must be kept cold, and drank very soon for the maximum coffee profile.
I have seen coffee beers fall hard, and it's all green pepper, so we plan to spread those cans around and not let them get past July for sure. I heard others were gonna sit on their cans for awhile and let the coffee fade a bit which is VERY confusing!?! Why spend $11/can and not drink as intended?

Perhaps current events dictated it become a two year aged beer...

I was hoping to save at least one for a makeshift FOBAB tasting my friends and I are putting together since FOBAB won't be happening.

For anyone that has picked up Supermassive today, have the car lines been bad? Kind of have no idea what to expect compared to their normal curbside pickup.

To answer my own question, easy peasy. No line at all, they have any 5 stations. Super efficient. Well done as usual, Rev!

Never picked up at Rev before, do you just pull up to a station or do you have to call 15 mins before?

Just pull up (from the north end of Kedzie). They have an initial station just south of the stop sign and they’ll tell you where to go from there (based on what you ordered). Just have your ID ready.

Seriously easy SuperMassive pickup today - HUGE shout out to the Rev Brew Crew!
(and since my lousy posts on BA mean nothing, I made sure to tip generously  )

That's hilarious - we have an annual (or quarterly) FauxBAB!
We have so many great beers in our basements/cellars that we stay local, use my neighborhood clubhouse, and have a great time! Of course, the last one was pre-COVID, but we hope to have some in the fall with 10-15 good people.
