When you guys go to Green Cheek, don’t forget to hit Windsor on your way home. Place slays. They let me buy singles.

^^^ THIS!!! I put Windsor on par with the best bottle shops in the area like Mr. K, El Cerrito, etc.

Besides their location near GC CM, Windsor also has a new shop near Bottle Logic.

    DO NOT MISS WINDSOR

Yes. Not sure what slays mean? I guess that’s young peoples word. But yes. I stopped in yesterday. A must stop when you hit GCtoo.

Yes. Both Scott’s location (CM & Anaheim) is a must stop when your in OC. Mike’s Mr K’s is a must. El Cerritos is a bit far for me but I have been when I drive by the area. If your in the north HB location stop at Hilltop and/or Mr Kegs. Next time I’m up in the BL and BrewX area I’ll check out the new Windsor shop. Looks like more can/bottle selection. Drink Independent and buy Independent.

Love the guys at Mr. K’s. Straight up friendly, humble, cool, and willing to help you in any way. A friend of mine is kind of a craft beer newb, yet the homies at Mr. K’s always take care of him.

My wife got it when we were there a few weeks ago. It's pretty good. Was definitely the move when you had to order food.

Burger quality and flavor is good, but there needs to be a little more to cut the fat/richness and pretty much all of the add-ons only add more richness. Over the weekend I ordered a single instead of a double and extra pickles and that definitely hit the sweet spot for me. I'm sure they'd hook up a little slice of raw onion if asked or maybe some of the veggies available on the beyond burger, so I might go that route next time, too.

Totally agree with this. The first time I got a burger there I went with the double and then added the pork belly. It was decadent for the first few bites, but a beast to finish. It would be great to have an option to add some veggies.

Scott crushes. Use him for all homebrewing needs. It's just a great combo to be able to grab some brew day beers at the same time. That also exist's at O'Shea, but it's a touch nicer to have the luxury within 3 miles of home, and I've always found Scott to be a bit more personable.

First time out at Green Cheek Too with things reopening. I had a Boring “California” IPA and it was banging. Well, I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but it was clean, crisp, smooth, and unique. I also smashed a “Chicago” dog (for only $5), but unfortunately the dog was luke warm at best. I didn’t complain because, well, at least it wasn’t frozen. I’m hoping things keep cool, but apparently down PCH at Javier’s, they just had 12 employees test positive for COVID.

My roommate works at CDM in (you guessed it) Corona Del Mar. He’s hip on all the in’s and outs out there.

They don't mention anything about employees testing positive. Just a vague statement about closing and cleaning. If employees have tested positive they should disclose it if they want to be trusted in the future.

    I
I suspect that most of the folks who frequent Javier's in Crystal Cove are the same demographic that caused our Board of Supervisors to back off on the mandatory mask wearing order, so they likely will disregard the "rumors" as fake news and will be back in as soon as the doors open (trust or not).

Another Friday lunch at GCtoo today. Got the Chicago Dog this time. Pretty good, except for like @RaulMondesi said the dog was lukewarm. It look like it was grilled. Anyway, they had 2 new can releases today. DDH The Other Brian and Sink or Swim. That Other Brian is my favorite haze from GC. And I think this is the first time I seen DDH TOB in cans?

Same with me. The dog was clearly grilled, but like warm.

Anyone in West LA / South Bay interested in splitting an anniversary pack? Basically 2 cans each of the 6 different releases.

Earth Is Round TIPA dropped today, just grabbed a few 4 packs, pretty active at the old drive through I must say. One of the best TIPAs in the game IMHO.

    Cheers,

Was going to go that way today. But my 1130 appt with finance guy went longer than I expected. So did drive to BWHB and Mr Kegs instead. Anyways I have some “clear” west coast hop heads coming over tomorrow for the 4th bbq and pool party. So had to restock up on west. With a few Revision haze on the side. Cheers brothers. Too bad we didn’t end up at BWSB one last time. Have a great 4th and weekend Bud.

You too buddy, I grabbed a couple 4 packs of Member IPA? too, a 7% west coaster with 100% Mosaic, cant wait to crack one of them. And your right, knowing what we do now it would have been appropriate for you and I to take that corner of the bar and chat up Gabe and share some OG Nelson from growler LOL !

    Cheers,

The hit's just keep on coming. Another next level TIPA from GC. Seriously, how the hell can Evan hide the booze in their TIPAs like no-one else outside Henry up at Monkish. This is a orange sorbet pineapple juice crusher, yea, crusher, go figure, LOL !

    Cheers,
