As someone who's only had casa a few times before covid hit. Ive been verry happy with their offerings. Just ordered my 3rd shipment. Everything i've had from them has been good to very good. You cant beat their pricing and free shipping either. Never had a stout from them. Looking forward to Vegabond.

Completely agree on ratings. Even jets was meh. Last sales were ok compared to every last release which was phenomenal.

Oh, I'm sure it's tasty. I just don't have 8 people at home to help me drink it. My wife dislikes pastry stouts more than I do and my kids are only good for a 2oz pour each, tops.

Oh, it's not about the price, I am fluuuuuush with cash (totally kidding). But really I just don't need that much sticky sweet stout in my life. One can would be perfect. None of the other few guys I order with here and there wanted to commit to it, either.

Soonday Dream is very good. Definitely favorite of these 3 but I’d put it below probably 6 or 7 of other IPAs they’ve put out in the last few months.

FWIW, Vagabond Breakfast (B2, didn't get to try B1) was not very sweet, which is why I liked it. CASA makes better dark beers than hoppy.

I grabbed two 4 packs of Vagabond. Yea it seems pricy at $8 per can but when I compare to alternatives in the market it feels reasonable. I don’t put a huge premium on Barrel aging. Paying $8 for a 16oz can of great non-Barrel aged adjunct stout is reasonable to me compared to $20 for a barrel aged version or if you go up to a 22oz bomber then looking at $30+ for the best stuff. I don’t think the barrel aging is worth 2x - 3x the cost per ounce.

During quarantine I’ve been starved enough for dark beers and Thrill Caught showed me enough of Casa’s potential on dark beers to pull the trigger.

I’m more excited for 4 new IPAs though. I still have flashbacks to that 4 IPA drop early in quarantine of Copper Wings, REM Cycle, Jumbo Jets and Ambient Fields. Holy crap that was the pinnacle of drinking. Not sure can ever reach that height again but the possibility is salivating.

If you guys think $8 for a non-barrel aged16 oz pastry stout is pricey, try one of Other Half's. They charge $16.

That was a great 1st order, but I think the last order I had topped it: Fresh Jets, When The Sun Hits and Soonday Dream were all top notch. I actually enjoyed When The Sun Hits the most - even though the best rated was Soonday Dream according to Untappd.

I agree...Vagabond surprised me and is excellent. Tastes like a nice cold brew coffee with nutty creamer in it. Casa has been killing it. IPAs have been great and being that it is so easy to get (free shipping!) I dont even bother with Monkish anymore. Way too much work compared to Casa.

I plan on opening up a Vagabond in an hour n half when I get home from lax. I need some breakfast after a 16 hour shift.

    Oh my! :open_mouth:
I don’t usually do stouts or stouts as my first pour of the day. I never do pastry stouts or care for them. But Vagabond is clearly a good one as @annakarina mentioned is surprisingly good. I wish I could save half of this can and have as leftovers tomorrow morning with breakfast. I need room for my hops before dinner. I think you’ll like this one @Hype_Train. :heavymetal:

Why not? I often throw a partially consumed can back in the fridge and drink it the next day with little or no ill effect (in fact, sometimes I like it better after it has “opened up” a bit).

Don't sleep on the Future History either. I've had the other hazies that went on sale last week so I didn't get those this time, but Future History is one of my favorites I've tried so far.

    Are you trolling or serious?

I've done that a few times with 0% success.

Though my mom claims it works every time for her. So ymmv.

Future history was tasty. This is my 4th delivery from casa and this was by far my favorite IPA From them.

Didn’t know what to expect with this one. Even at 12% I thought I’d finish it and get back to my hoppy cans. Got another can. I’ll do that.

I’ve done it in the past. Even with some IPA’s cans/bottles. Not a big issue imo. Especially with stouts with little carbonation. I’ll cover the opening with some paper napkin rolled and stuffed in the opening. But make sure you cover the opening right away. You still get the flavor and abv’s. I have some luck with hoppy cans. That’s why it’s nice to have some 12oz cans/bottles.

I thought Future History was brand new release for Casa?
