I'm hoping that since these breweries now have the systems in place and experience shipping, they will continue. Most of the hesitation was probably logistical in the beginning and since they were forced to adapt, it'll be easier to continue. Of course, if they are constantly selling out their beer without shipping, they'll probably drop it. For example, I can't see Monkish continuing to ship when everything they put out sells out immediately.

I wouldn't be surprised if CA, or even just LA County, announced another shutdown soon. The numbers are spiking pretty ridiculously in other states and aren't looking good for LA County specifically.

Yes I wholeheartedly agree with amount of Rising increases of the cases going around especially LA County that I won't be surprised if things start to shut down just shy of August again. We're still in the first wave of this pandemic and it's not over by a long shot. As much as I would love to visit all the places that I used to visit frequently this is a life-changing at that I have to avoid those places even in group settings for quite some time. This is a cultural change for all of us and we have to start to grow and change going forward.

Yes. This Corona Virus is no hype. It’s real. Did I just say that?

My hope is that future shutdowns won’t be State-wide, and instead on a county-by-county basis. Some areas have had few new infections, and more importantly fewer deaths. I hope the approach going forward is more with a scalpel rather than an axe.

People will travel to those places that aren’t shutdown.

Yeah this. This is exactly why nothing was contained during the first shut down. Not only will people travel, the people that will do so are the ones who won't follow any restrictions and gladly spread the virus.

The swap meet down at the stadium in point loma was up and running yesterday...so....expect a tiny surge in a few weeks in SD. =P

Sadly, this caused me to not even glance at the taplist at MT when I was doing my pickup.

Looks like bars are being shutdown in many counties once again. I’m guessing this will included breweries that don’t serve food. Only a few weeks away from shutting down all dine in places.

Yep. Governor just ordered any open bars and night spots in seven counties including Los Angeles to shutdown, and recommended that the other counties do the same. Too many people aren't aware that we're still very much in the beginning of this health and financial crisis or feel that it doesn't apply to them.

Todd, concur, too many selfish, entitled sloppy people are setting us back to where we were in April.

    Cheers,

It's like playing Chutes and Ladders and you keep hitting that one chute that takes you back to almost the beginning...until you flip over the table and the pieces go flying everywhere.

Just when Bottle Logic reopened their tap room too... picking up my bottles and noticed they set up tables out in front of the lawn area. Visited Terreux and Green Cheek for beers in house which wasn’t too bad but guess it’ll all come closing to a halt soon

And BL is setup now to serve beer & food on the same tab, so they’ll be good to go. Along with Green Cheek CM and other breweries that opened in phase 2.

how are the California breweries in general adhering to social distance standards? I split my time between Texas and Houston and have generally been very impressed with the guidelines breweries have put in place to circumvent virus concerns. Being lumped in the bar category has been largely unfair to breweries in my opinion (texas breweries all shut down this past week as mandated by Governor)

Honestly, I think most businesses are taking the necessary steps for social distancing, requiring masks, etc. but the people that are turning this entire thing into some political stance are ruining everything. People refusing to wear masks and abide by the social distancing guidelines are the ones further spreading the virus and causing these record number of outbreaks. If everyone stopped trying to be a medical expert and actually listened to the medical experts, this situation would have been dealt with far sooner than it's taking. /endrant

Not sure about others but I've been really impressed with how Bruery/Terruex have handled it. Tables are all 6+ feet apart or have large plastic dividers in place. Outside seating available for open air. Table side service so there's no congregating in lines. Even water is brought to you to your table. Masks on whenever you leave your table for food, restrooms, etc. Separate entry and exits so even less congregation and they wipe everything down when you leave. I've visited twice and have not observed anyone intentionally trying to break the rules and believe if they did the staff would have asked them to leave.
