[IMG] A cool crisp morning and starting the day with the awesome stuff from Maine. This brewery just turned 2 and are putting out incredible beers, especially NEIPAs. Cheers all.

Beautiful purple sky to the West coupled with a fine mist to begin this most excellent morning. Nice day to walk barefoot a bit beyond my front yard across the street and enjoy a nice English Brown Ale, Spiteful Brewing's collaboration with Kuma's Corner, If It's Too Loud, You're Too Old

@SawDog505 I'm hoping to hit New England (VT, NH & ME) and Quebec for the first time as a craft beer drinker. I'll be looking for brewery suggestions, perhaps September 2021 places will be reopened. Will have to keep Definitive on the radar.

@Shanex Yeke Yeke = Two Tributes. That is a great pour I need to pick up sooner rather than later.

Worked a few Deep Purple concerts back in the day. They were judged to be the loudest concert by the folks at Guiness. I wouldn't put up much of an argument against.

I expect the light and fog to change before I pull by next pour.

@ChicagoJ please don’t tell me that you’ve never had Tripel Karmeliet? Cheers!

    I never had it.

I kid, I just haven't picked up a four pack in a year or two, and haven't picked up many Quads / Tripels in general this year, despite the fact they are among my top favorite styles. Rona / buying local and traveling much of the Winter before lockdown has a lot to do with this sad state of affairs.

I seem to grab La Fin Du Monde, Rocherfort 10 / St. Bernardus Abt 12 first, leaving very good beers like Tripel Karmeliet fall to the wayside.

I rated it 3.9 here, which many may take as a poor score, but I use 3 as a baseline for a good average beer, whereas many use 3 as a once and never again beer. I only have several over 4.7 in close to 2,000 beers scored (need to catch up entries here someday).

Good day BAS! Off to a gentle rainy start to the day - mowed the yard and ran the sprinkler on part of it yesterday. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Yep, it's a NEIPA alright.

Have a good Saturday. Will just be me picking away at trying most of the new video games I bought at the Steam sale. Probably will end up getting a few more.

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger American Haze. Awesome session NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate white bread, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; very creamy/bready malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Refreshingly smooth/soft, not aggressive, zero warming 5%, with minimal lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Strata, Amarillo, HBC 522 hop profile. Extremely juicy/vibrant hops with light dank/earthy notes; with a nice sized oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Another spot on brew for the series! 4.13

Thank you very much, @BelgianFox, for this beautiful Duvel glass! As many of you know, especially @mickyge, I have a collection of Duvel glasses that @LeperJim generously provided to me, which were prizes for winning contests on WBAYDN. I won those contests because of my incredible artistic vision. Or, maybe it was because I was willing to look completely ridiculous in my posts. Either way, one of the glasses that I received from @LeperJim caught @BelgianFox's eye, and we made a deal to trade Duvel glasses. I have two more new beautiful Duvel glasses to display soon!

Decided to start my first vacation day in 6 months sharing a Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen with my wife (yesterday was 27 years). Went so well with the shoreside, sea air.

I am going to have one piece of cake, then will get ready to meet @scream and @Danmullens1 at 3 Sheeps Brewing at noon. We will be celebrating a number of June birthdays. It will be great to drink beers in public with friends, once again. The Wolf is being released this weekend at the brewery, which is their signature BA stout. I asked @scream's son, a brewer at 3 Sheeps Brewing, to make a special tuna and strawberry variant of The Wolf, so we'll see if he took me seriously.

Old Nation M-43. Amazing NEIPA as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, zesty, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; very creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats, and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank/juicy hops, with perfect wheat, oat, malt malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness, amazing soft feel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is better than most anything else I've had in the state. DDH is just as impressive; but a bit more bitter, resinous, dank, and earthy.

Back this morning with a fresh pint of HA Daisy Cutter. To celebrate 5 years on BA!
This was the beer and the brewery that brought me wholesale back to beer in 2013. Cheers, ya pukes!

A year ago this weekend, I was enjoying one of these on vacation sitting around its namesake, Mirror Pond in Bend, OR. Due to COVID travel restrictions, I'll have to enjoy this Mirror Pond and imagine really hard that I'm back there.
