Based on the numbers the past two weeks 100% should be happening soon. Still, even 50% is a decent and a lot of places on most nights pre covid were only at 50% I would think. Plus places I've been to don't seem to be tracking it too close.

I agree with you. Kids aren’t good at social distancing. Already had a group run right up next to us, and start playing with some rocks while at Clutch’s beer garden in the lot at Keg n Case. Also watched a guy berating the people in front of us in line for wearing masks. I was like fuck, am I going to have to fight this guy? He was a fucking giant. A really drunk, belligerent giant. It was an overall shitty experience.

Anyone been to Surly since the reopening? If so, how is the distancing and food ordering situation?

That was ME! Just kidding. No reason to not have a mask on when social distancing is not possible. There is conflicting studies on the masks but my thought is they can't hurt when you can't social distance so why wouldn't you.

I know of 1 taproom that does not require reservations and I have never seen any taproom/brewery employee wearing a mask. Also there have been times where inside seating has easily exceeded the 50% rule. I'm not too concerned about it and frankly that's why I like going there. No hassles to deal with. But am worried that the state may pull back on the opening of bars/restaurants because of more cases being reported lately attributed to bars and restaurants. Wondering if others have seen a lack of following the guidelines in metro or out-state taprooms.

For everyone that is so worried about the state shutting businesses back down, why are they not social distancing and wearing a mask? That is what will prevent additional shutdowns, slowing the spread of COVID. Yes, I understand you aren't wearing a mask while drinking your beer or eating dinner.

In my limited taproom experiences since reopening, people are not taking this seriously.

If the Governor is serious about enforcing this he should employ inspectors to check places out. Those not in compliance get one warning and a fine and then on second offense they get shutdown. It makes no sense to penalize ALL the places who are doing things right because of those that aren't. Kind of like health inspectors but ramped up. People need jobs. Hire them to do this. I shouldn't have to outline this for the Governor. Set the rules THEN enforce them...not one of his strong points..The reason places aren't following this is because it's not being enforced. I know it's a big state but I'd focus on the TC metro to start as this thing seems to thrive in dense populations.

Or, ya know, people could just show some personal responsibility. Not saying you're wrong on some type of enforcement, but it's just not practical and is easily solved by people behaving in a responsible and respectful manner. But masks are hard and grandmama is gonna die eventually anyway.../snark

One taproom that is doing it right is Shakopee Brew Hall. They have a nice setup they share with Turtles. They have a tent on the street that spans the breadth of their two establishments that they share. You go inside and speak with the host and sign in, and then he seats you, either inside or outside, and your party cannot move to another seating area without checking in. Most of the seating inside has been removed. All staff are wearing masks. I assume Turtles is doing it the same way. With those measures being used, people seem to understand to keep distance between themselves and others around.

Fair State is doing a very good job as well. I was up at the north shore last week where Castle Danger had a really nice setup to adhere to the guidelines.

I'm going to be going to a brewery tomorrow, and it's the first time I'll be going to one where they force facemasks on the staff. I'll be there to meet up with a fellow BA member. I'm hoping it goes well for me. All my brewery visits have been out of state. None of BS was going on, and I loved it. I'm not a fan of them, because when I see people wear them, it brings me back to last year when I was robbed at work, and it puts worry in the back of my mind of getting robbed again. It was a very horrible experience.

    So, hoping for the best.

Frankly, just stay home or get beers to go if this is your attitude toward simple measures against preventing the spread of a virus during a pandemic. Just completely ridiculous man.
