Fire Maker — Perfect Match

 

Generally not a fan of cashmere hops, however, when treehouse throws them into the kettle and dry hop of a DIPA and it turns out fantastic! What the hell do I know!

 

I also loved it. Not like any milkshake ipa I’ve ever had. This needs a new style name. Something like “thick smoothie” ale. Neither ipa nor sour.

 

Work is over. Pool is open. So is this beer.

I don’t know if anybody posted about Johnny Mandel, the writer of this song, passing away yesterday. I like this cover of it.

 

I have not seen it yet but I did mention that they were available to the beer manager. Hopefully they show up although I'm satisfied buying 6 packs. Cheers

Operation Fridge Purge. My son got these for his 21st Birthday and won't drink them. They're taking up valuable real estate in my beer fridge so taking the proverbial bull by the horns.

Wouldn't expect anything less from Treehouse. That said, the Cashmere hop gets dumped on when it's really more of a blending hop. It should never be a stand-alone hop (lookin at you too, Sabro!) but when it's no more than 20% of the hop bill, I think it does pretty interesting things to the texture and mouthfeel of a beer. But a SMaSH Cashmere? Nope.

I seriously can’t tell how I feel about that color, almost bordering on prune juice territory. Maybe it’s just the lighting. That can art is very nice though, and looks like a gorgeous day out there as well!
