Have a good Thursday. I was up talking on Discord with a friend for a long time last night, while we played chess on lichess until 5AM. I took a quick nap after that. My Eleaf vape mod is apparently dead now, so I will need to go buy a new device today. Will not power up, or see the coil resistance properly. Probably will look at a different model this time, in the local store down the street of course.

Alaskan Hazy Bay Juicy IPA. Excellent NEIPA. Nice head retention/soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and yeast tang on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming 6%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Very smooth/soft. Great Sultana, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints. 4

I heard about this beer from Jason's thread and I was lucky enough to find it.

    Good morning BA
Worked 13 hours overnight and then had to stay over 30 minutes for a fire drill. Beer! Now!

Thanks for kicking things off this morning @beergoot ! Every time I see your avatar, I have varying opinions of who is smiling widest; you, the dog that loves you, or me looking at your avatar. I think I won today!

The more I drink this beer, the more I love the great 15 packs it resides in while awaiting my adoption. Founders All Day IPA!

Got an 11 mile walk in, perhaps I'll clear a marathon before the clock strikes midnight.

Ahmad Jamal is celebrating his 90th birthday today and is still going strong. May we all get this opportunity to live right and give back to the world!

    Cheers!!!

I really love this album. It’s been my go to lawn mowing album lately which means I should get a couple more listens in later today.

    Glad you like the avatar!

Nice tune selection. Chicago was the first rock concert I saw back at Vets Memorial in Columbus, OH. I must have been 15 or so. Got my dad to drive me and a friend down while he and my youngest brother checked out a car show.

That is awesome, you have a great dad as well!

Chicago is one of my favorite bands, though I definitely think they should have closed shop after Terry's tragic death. His daughter released a great documentary a few years ago. Terry died when she was less than two years old.

Bell's Two Hearted. Fantastic as always. Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resin/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 7%. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing bready Vienna/pale malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on Midwest style IPA. Prefer the Founders Centennial more, but love both. Just as impressive as the Double as well.

Getting ready to restart my homebrewery. I bought a case of Paulaner beers at Costco to (1) have bottles ready when the fermentation is done, and (2) recalibrate my taste buds for brewing lager beers, some using a decoction mash.

Salvator, 8.1% abv, and so very, very smooth. Next time I will make sure the glass is cleaner.

Do u find decoction to be worth your effort? And have you ever done a secondary beer with a left over mash? I’ve been studying German brewing and most people say it is worth doing decoction methods but incredibly time consuming and it’s a lot of labor which most wont do for that reason.

Starting late (or early depending on your yardstick). Had high hopes for this: it's good, just not what I expected. Maybe it's the Karma derived from drinking Founders out of a Bell's glass?

Of importance, independence from Great Britain was actually declared on 7/2/1776, although the final draft of the Declaration of Independence was not approved until 7/4 (and not signed until 8/2), so ...

How do you get the Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. So practice social distancing, stay safe, please, sunscreen when out and about, agus Sláinte, mo chairde!
