If you read this thread you'd think it was a super well run release with almost nobody being shut out. If you look at the twitter and such you'd think almost everyone got shut out and it was a shit show.

To be fair, I did have issues finding the link for a while (unless it wasn't there until 3:02 which can't have been the case or else I'd have heard other people complaining) and 5 packs were still available.

Say what you want about BA but the people on average seem to be...I'm too lazy to come up with a more fair or nuanced term, so I'll just say on average they seem to be "better" :stuck_out_tongue:

Cause most ppl in FB groups seem too concerned with the hype, secondary and tick of the beer than actually enjoying it.

I ended up having a job interview pop up at 3pm, so I put the wife in charge of attempting to get one of the $200 packs. She said she was right on at 3, got it in her cart but it sold out when she went to pay. Tried again with the $150 pack with the same result. Oh well, there’s plenty of other great beer in this city that needs to be drank. And I’m going to do my best to help.

I’d imagine the sell outs had to do with days picked. I logged in at 3 chose the 25th since I can’t come til then, put one 5 pack in my cart, then thought for a minute backed out and added a second 5 pack. Put my information in and got it. It took me probably 4 minutes for the whole thing and had no issues. Wonder if they had a set amount each day and the earlier days were more likely to sell out quicker.

Interestingly I've been home so much that a couple of hours trip feels like a vacation at this point

The link was not available right at 3, I kept refreshing & it was about a minute in before the packs appeared

Hmm, if I were to write up an SOP (standard operating procedure) on it, I could close that last little bit of separation between home and work.

with the new list of variants up, 2013 Bourbon BA caught my eye.. didn't they only do VB and Muerte in Bourbon Barrels that year?

Has anyone had a Dark Lord (xRBA xDVR) with the pixelated Joust label yet and care to provide thoughts?

I had planned to open it this year at DLD...obviously plans changed but I'm not sure I want to wait until whenever the next festival might be.

I have the same one, but have not cracked it yet. I’m also really curious!

We did a side by side with all the variants pretty soon after DLD last year. I felt the regular Rye and Bourbon were far superior to the blends partially aged in Divine Rite Whiskey Barrels. But the Rye blend won over the Bourbon one.

Does anyone actually want to drink an RIS in this humidity and temperature anyway? That being said I would probably miss the window anyway seeing how I don't really follow the news.

Yep. Drank a BA Expedition with a friend last night. It was excellent. I'm sure I'll get into a BA stout or 2 tomorrow too.

Yeah that is interesting... I wonder if it was a mistake and it was actually something like Moscatel.

Considering the bottles were all direct printed that year rather than paper labels, this seems highly dubious as a variant. Was this from Nick's private stash? If someone gets one, please take a photo of the bottle as I'm curious whether it has a unique DLD variant logo like each variant did or if it is the generic FFF 750ml's from that area they would have hand written "BA DL" on.

Lol. I've had it. Wasn't the biggest fan. Was just overly sweet to my liking.

There's some really nice 2-bottle combos that can be made on that list. And there's some REALLY bad 2-bottle combos that'll put a damper in your day. I think we need to be mentally prepared for that scenario playing out.
