[IMG] Morning all. You see that light it has been on for almost 2 days, out of respect for the soldiers who protect our freedom. I leave it on for Memorial Day, Veteran’s day, and for July 4th, because I know how lucky we all are to have the freedom we have and because I love this country. My Dad was a Vietnam veteran who served two tours and he never once tried to get my brother and I into the service. I however have a respect and try my best to honor the men and woman who fight for all of us. @Roguer who I know has served and all the other BAs on here, thank you!

This is a new beer from @mschrei and it is excellent and unique. Cheers all and remember most of us live in an amazing country that is at a crossroads right now. I hope things can calm down soon and hopefully racial equality will finally be what it should be in 2020. Cheers all.

Have a good Sunday. I played Dota 2 with a friend for 3 hours last night, then was watching Looney Tunes online, and playing Lichess puzzles and practice. Still have 3 correspondence games going. I need to definitely watch some tutorial videos for the Dota 2 because I was terrible.

Shorts Sweet 16 anniversary ale. Awesome IPA. Lasting rocky head retention, thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon,. honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 6.9%, with minimal lingering hop burn after the finish. 16 hop varieties; feels like a lot of citra, motueka, mosaic, el dorado. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Very impressive! 4.13

Still going on the Ocean all night. This new LP will be AOTY for certain.

Switching up from the normal morning juice to one of my forgotten favorites. An Old Chub will start my day. Love the subtle smoked peat in this one. I am off tomorrow so a mid-day nap is definitely in my future.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

Griffin Claw Flying Buffalo - Bourbon Barrel Aged - Modern Times Coffee. This was amazing. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, fudge, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, molasses, raisin, fig, cherry, date, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast earthiness. Very slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Very mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness; and minimal bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready malt mouthfeel; light slickness, sticky, chalky, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft, minimal warming 12% or lingering barrel booze after the finish. Perfectly balanced with super rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Definitely one of the best in the series, glad I impulsed on the 4 pack! 4.38

My first pour, Bell's Official, was reviewed for New Beer Sunday. The thread is a great place to read reviews of new beers or long standing beers we have come across for the first time.

It was meh, a rare miss by Bell's. I hope your beers are on point today, and your air conditioning is working as the heat continues throughout most of the U.S.A.

This is my first anniversary of early retirement! It has been mostly great. Restricted travel and social engagements due to The Rona the major adjustment at this point. Never thought PPE would mean anything other than Property, Plant and Equipment, but I'm just a nerdy CPA, regardless of how I spend my days.

    Cheers!

I managed to strain my neck and lower back doing front squats in my basement this morning, after I lost my grip on the barbell and tried not to drop it, which I did anyway. I am now going to drink this beer, while I put some frozen bratwursts on my strained muscles.

Good morning BAs! Mrs. Z got up/out of bed right as I was taking my bacon/onion/cheddar/sriracha topped cast iron seared pork chops out of the oven last night ... my apple pie with whipped topping and a side pour of “Nectar” (Pedro Ximenez sherry I brought back from Spain) was a hit, too ... fun evening of puzzle building, TV watching (“The Music Man” 1962 with Shirley Jones / Robert Preston) and some Chardonnay made for a fantastic Fourth of July finish yesterday. I hope all my BA brothers/sisters had an enjoyable day.

Revisiting an ongoing science project this morning, DFH’s “World Wide Stout” bottled 4/11/19:

It’s been a little over six months since I last had this vintage...poured at 57° into a recent thrift store find, my first impression is that the booze and barrel notes have continued to mellow. Roast caramel, dark chocolate, star anise, dark fruits/plums, bitter roast finish. Warmth from 16% abv, but not particularly boozy, however, there is a phenolic aftertaste alongside the bitter roast finish. Dry oaky tongue coating, medium minus body, minimal carbonation. I’ve now had relatively fresh, and at about 6 months, and now at 15 months old...this beer is well made, multi-layered, and potent...a great beer at every step along the way...Enjoy the weekend, and continue to stay safe - Cheers!

Good morning, @superspak @SawDog505 @DoctorZombies @GreenBayBA and the rest of the early rising WBAYDN? crew.

A relatively light offering for me to get my Sunday rolling. Beer shopping is in my immediate future.

I'll be reviewing this one over on New Beer Sunday once I've had a chance to get a feel for it. If you're having a beer for the very first time - brand new to you! - and you'd like to tell us a little bit about it, please come join us at the virtual bar!

Arclight Soursmith Peach. Amazing sour. Solid head retention/light spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge sour/tart/tangy peaches, fruit fuzz/skin/pits, apricot, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, plum, pear, red/green apple, melon, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, honey, wheat, white bread dough; light oak, vanilla, pepper, white vinegar, leather, lacto/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/silky/bready malts, lactic acid, fruit tang, and light tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness; minimal pucker/astringency. Dangerously smooth, minimal warming 8.5%. Amazing balance of super jammy peaches and Brett/Bacteria complexity; with a large sized wheat/malt backbone against acidity. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Another easy winner! 4.35
