Have the day off tomorrow for the 4th, so I'm planning to brew a Munich dunkel, doing my first ever decoction.

I have been using this photo angle for a long time.
You are the first to notice, and nail it!!
Robot is Robbie from Forbidden Planet.

I could be wrong, but from what little can be seen makes me think it is the robot from Lost in Space, rather than the robot from Forbidden Planet. Cheers!

It'd be more convincing as Robot if it had the familiar "Danger Will Robinson!" waving arms, plus the red line 'smile' is not in character for Robot.
On a beer note, the clarity of @SABERG's rye IPA is impressive.

From the bit we can see, to me it doesn't look exactly like Robbie or Robot. I think we need a clear picture to get to the bottom of this. Perhaps it's a RoboBrew accessory.

There are now 62 bottles of framboise, conditioning on the cellar floor. I think I'm going to like this one. I blended 40% raspberry stout with an aged sour brown, and used a raspberry wine base for the fruit in the stout. One thing I wish I had done was brew the stout to a stronger spec; I underestimated the dilution effect of the fruit. Still, I'm pretty happy with the uncarbonated blend and am hopeful for the finished

Bottling the passion fruit Witbier and closed transferring the Citra/Mosaic NEIPA to serving keg.

No brewing activities for a while, as we are moving into a new house and spending some family time away at the beach.

Just finished up my recipes for my next two lager.

Will be brewing up my Oktoberfest 2020 next weekend... Looked at my past few years of recipes and came up with a new ratio of character malts, as well as subbing out German pils with Belgian pils, just for something different to see how it is.

Once that is racked off the yeast for spunding, I will brew up my next Rauchbier to get pitched onto that yeast cake. Will be using WY2124.

So that means this week I will start making my first of two yeast starters (1L to 2.25L) and smoking dark munich malt for the next Rauch, which will be probably 60-75% of the total percentage. After those two, might go back to ales for a bit. I'd like to brew another english mild and/or bitter, as well as something hoppy (IPA...). Basically just trying to use all the hops I have in the freezer, otherwise, prob would skip out on brewing pales/IPA's all together. Lager is where my heart be! <3

First brew day in 2 months today, and a lot of firsts. My LHBS closed last month (unrelated to COVID) so I broke down and bought a grain mill. Used a simple grist as I don't have much grain yet. Kveik IPA with 97% Pilsner/3% Carapils, Warrior, Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic. Used Lallemand dry Voss yeast (another first), pitched at 90. Should be interesting.

I think he was suggesting something like a Brew Hauler, which would pretty much eliminate the chance of injury if the carboy were to break.

Good brew day today. Brewing an ESB. Second time with this recipe.

    80% Maris Otter
    11% Flaked Maiz
    9% Belgian 60L crystal
Northern Brewer for bittering and East Kent Goldings for flavor/aroma and dry hop
    WLP002 for yeast.

Hit all my numbers pretty well, just 2 pts over on OG, which I consider a win. 5 hours after pitching and already seeing activity. My last experience with WLP002 showed me that this yeast is a beast: takes off like a rocket and tears through the sugars. Pretty impressive show!

    Cheers!

I made some good strides cleaning and organizing my garage so I could brew again. I also did a brew day dry run. I broke out all the equipment I would need, and went through the motions of brewing. I'm glad I did. There were several items that were broken/needing replacing (Natural gas fittings, scale, etc). It's been... 1.5 going on 2 years since my last brew day. And that time has been crazy! Lost a job, been unemployed, got married, found a dream job, bought our first house, not to mention ronna. What a crazy 2019/2020! I've got quite a bit of grain that needs fermenting, I'm looking forward to getting back at it! :grinning::beers:
