Two for Tuesday on tap for today. Two pours planned brewed by Half Acre Brewery, one of the few breweries in Chicago which has not reopened their taprooms.

The last of my Half Acre Riwaka Double Daisy Cutter pours.

It is a pretty good pour, but not a beer for me, prefer Daisy Cutter much better. Half Acre has begun semi-hazing up their offerings to satisfy the masses. Meh.

Up early crunching the numbers for my Rotisserie Baseball League. Been playing since my sophomore year in high school. 35 years later, somethings are easier like the fact statistics are calculated for you vs. by hand as we did in the day. Other things are harder like the fact I am in a league which uses 30 categories, has 20 teams and goes 45 players deep per team (18 starters, 27 reserves), or 900 players total. We had to tweak things for this season, and while I was royally pissed at the greed of MLB owners, I won't give them a penny but am OK with playing this season and beyond.

Hope you have a great beer or two lined up for today, and that you are excited when your sport returns.

I've seen these players live, but many great players featured in this song.

My pre-draft rankings (automated draft) skew toward hitters and power, more consistent from year to year and less prone to injury than pitching.

    Hello all,

Only reward I could purchase after a long walk on the playa. I have it fairly easy these days. La goudale, local beer in 500ml can. Feeling buzzed already...

    Cheers!

Have a good Tuesday. Had a bit of a normal sleep for 6 hours. Feeling a bit better today, I was up until 230 on steam voice chat with on of my friends while we were playing online chess. Will be doing more of that today of course. I saw that all of the Tomb Raider series is insanely low price on Steam, so I am probably going to get the whole series.

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger American Haze. Awesome session NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate white bread, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; very creamy/bready malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Refreshingly smooth/soft, not aggressive, zero warming 5%, with minimal lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Strata, Amarillo, HBC 522 hop profile. Extremely juicy/vibrant hops with light dank/earthy notes; with a nice sized oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Another spot on brew for the series!

Kasteel Rouge on tap, after the (afternoon) stroll on the beach. Let’s be serious, I have nothing to complain about right now.

I am seriously thinking about upgrading to a 144hz 1440p gaming monitor. I got a 24" 1ms 75hz 1080p Acer monitor for black friday last year. Been having flickering black problems for a while, but only intermittently. I'm comfortable with my rig now, but I can always upgrade my GPU later on if my GTX 1060 isn't up to par. Might even go AMD Radeon if the price is right. Will have to do some benchmark comparisons. Seems like Amazon has more monitors to choose from that won't break the bank. I went to newegg and most in that same price range were all sold out.

Founders Blushing Monk. Amazing as always. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, raisin, red grape, plum, pear, red apple, pepper, candi sugar, and toasted bread; with some herbal hops and yeast earthiness. Touch of banana/clove. Balanced fruit tartness and peppery yeast spice on the finish against malt sweetness. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Some bready/grainy creaminess, fruit tannins, and lightly slick/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Good dryness from fruit acidity and yeast spice; never too sweet. Very drinkable, minimal warming 9.2%. This shows great balance of Belgian yeast character, without just being a straight over the top fruit beer. Love Rubaeus too, this is basically just the imperial Belgian version. One of my favorite fruit beers of all time. Super jammy. Still have plenty left. Hope they make it again. Cerise is supposed to be out soon as a limited release.

I like the big heavy column on that stemware! Probably makes it feel like you are picking up a barbell in the weightroom, eh?

9 am and 88 degrees. Supposed to be really hot (as opposed to just hot) the next several days.

I’ve been training all winter to lift beer. You can’t go wrong with Belgian glassware either.

Moving quickly on to beer #2 (I have to get the taste of my last beer out of my mouth...), CCB’s “Florida Man”:

Canned 6/12/20. Sweet tropical fruit, and bitter citrus hop flavors. Dank weedy nose. Just what the Doctor ordered (and 8.5% don’t hurt none neither). Cheers gang!
