What beer are you drinking now? #2817

Oh I like the juice.

 

I have never written a review on this cherished beer. I found these 16.9 ounce cans at Total Wine and I think this format is new in the States? Anybody? Always loved this beer and even got it on draft years ago and it was so much better that way it took me by surprise. Somehow this iteration seems lighter??

I’m taking the afternoon off (from chores) - Jai Alai:



On my “to do” list, but not a “chore”, I’m restocking my chillers and mini fridge today with beers to drink...just unboxed a 2016 Cantillon “Iris”, and a 2016 “Parabola”. Like several other BAs, staying at home has resulted in less beer buying and more drinking down my “cellar”...Drink up BAs!

 

Happy Birthday Ringo! I’ve seen these size cans around the country for at least a couple of years, and on the shelf at the TW here in SWFL just as long...good stuff - I like the cans!

 

't IJ van de Duvel. Hazy IPA collab from Duvel and 't IJ.
Still plenty of this one time only beer at my local supermarket and even stored in a cooler. (Jumbo, Mall of the Netherlands, for locals who might be interested).
This is a nice collab brew by the way. Somehow it has the aromas of both 't IJ and Duvel.

Strata, Galaxy and Simcoe in a 5.7% ABV package. On a summer day. After a 5 mile run.

Just been listening to music and playing chess practice. Found a lot of tabs from DSO and Slugdge have Drop A tuning on a 7 string, so I am going to tune that up and do some DSO covers. No one has really done any guitar covers for them, only bass.

Old Nation M-43. Amazing NEIPA as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, zesty, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; very creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats, and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank/juicy hops, with perfect wheat, oat, malt malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness, amazing soft feel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is better than most anything else I've had in the state. DDH is just as impressive; but a bit more bitter, resinous, dank, and earthy.
