    The early morning beer & long walk routine has worked the past few days, especially with the hot day temps.

    This "Hopfenweisse" collaboration between suburban brewer Pollyanna and Chicago brewer Revolution called Lederhosen Luau is a great beer. I wish I picked up four more despite the fact my fridge is still jammed with beer.

    Five weeks young and going strong. Everything going great except for the later sunrises, OK for now but will be sad in a few months. The cycle of life will go on long after we (individually or collectively) are long gone.

    Hope these inspire @LarryV to pluck a few notes later today.

    Good morning @ChicagoJ and all advocates. I’m also done with the morning walk to the playa, and now rewarding myself:

    Kasteel tripel, quite strong ABV wise, 11%. Very good, but at my advanced age I feel like a short siesta/nap is now due.

    Have a good Thursday. I made it to 33 years old, gets harder every year. Not feeling any different than any other day. I made my last steam sale cart last night giving me 55 new games. It was mostly a lot of indie puzzle platformers and the Tomb Raider complete collection bundle. I started up a game of F.E.A.R. last night for some nostalgia. I haven't played that since at least 2008 or 9. I got game bundle for that series at the start of the sale 2 weeks ago.

    New Holland Poet's Brunch Stout. Awesome stuff. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, cinnamon, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy/silky/velvety/bready malts; light sticky spice and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 9% or cinnamon heat after the finish. Awesome balanced rich malts, cinnamon, maple, and vanilla flavors; with solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Really big fan, amazingly well balanced. Nothing overwhelming. Glad I got the 4 pack at the corner store.

    Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout 2018. Amazing as usual. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, and charcoal. Balanced roast/char bittersweet and bourbon/oak spicy finish. Medium carbonation and full bodied; awesome creamy, silky, velvety, and lightly slick mouthfeel; with some lightly drying chalky roast and bourbon/oak tannins after the finish. Mildly increasing warming finish, minimal boozy barrel notes. Very smooth sipper. Fantastic barrel integration/balance with the fruity/nutty coffee and rich malts; without being overly boozy on the barrels. More recent batches did not seem to need as much added age to mellow from the barrel booze aspect when fresher, vs previous years. Plus the higher ABV made them even richer. Hope it comes back next year.

    Took the dogs for a walk before it got too hot. Still, it was 93 when we finished at 8:30. We hit 107 yesterday, and will be in the same ballpark today (and probably for the next week). It might be a dry heat, but it's still damn hot.
    Rehydrated after getting home, now starting some beer consumption.
