This GB is already better than the last one. Not sure what they did to the prior batch that was #nastygross

I’m seeing 2 different colors of Galaxy Bowl on Untappd. I had the nasty hop burn yellow one last night. One of the most chalkiest on the back end beers I’ve ever had. Gag worthy. Brought me back to the trauma of the last batch.

that’s so interesting - my first can was easy drinking and enjoyable, just a hint of “green.” I actually was thinking I would love some more hop bite, overripe fruit or funk to take it to the next level.

maybe we should trade cans and mix?

Let’s say 7/9/2030? I’ll be the guy in the neon orange hazmat suit in the open field just south of New Chicago - Outpost 12. We can trade cans via established “water balloon slingshot protocol 2.0” and shout at each-other from a safe distance, laughing about how we thought the first half of 2020 was “so crazy” before we understood what the second half would bring.

I enjoyed the one can of GB I've had. It was noticeably on the yellowish side, which I find more visually appealing. I didn't have the last batch as a point of reference, but I did get a bit of that earthy burn on the back end from what I'm assuming is the less desirable 2019 Galaxy harvest, but it wasn't enough to be off putting. I enjoyed it enough to grab a 2nd 4pk.

Feel there's been needed quantity/duration adjustments by brewers using 2019 Galaxy from previous batch iterations.

I remember first batch of Blazed orange also being a clear pale ale

I had a can of Galaxy bowl and had to take a shit an hour later. After the 1st batch I didn't shit until the next day but it was fire emojis.

Just wanted to let @HouseofWortship know that I'm drinking my final 7 week old can of Green Moss and it is fucking excellent.

The only people with 7 week old beer in this day and age are shelter at home violators. Governor Pritzker will be calling you shortly.

I think it was pretty heavily lauded in the 2019 thread. I had it ranked as the best beer I had in 2019. This version is missing the acidic like flavor comparable to eating a vitamin which made the 2019 beer amazingly different from other HB beers. This is still a top HB beer, but not the homerun it was last year.

Just cracked my first can...completely agree.

Last years version was pretty great...this one is pretty good.

It kind illustrates the Hop Butcher enigma; overall, they are consistently one of the best IPA breweries in Chicago (THE best, in my opinion), but they are fairly INconsistent from batch to batch on any particular IPA they make.

I’m just an internet cicerone, so that caveat applies here:

hidden secret cove is a bit muddled for me. Hard to discern much of the flavors going on except some vanilla and very ripe banana. I mean, it tasted GOOD but hard to pick much out past what I mentioned. Perhaps letting it warm a little would help...I have a few more cans to try this out.
