The problem is it's only like 3 or 4 beers. Sure, one of them is Black Butte, but it still doesn't feel like they have much of a presence here.

Since I've always wanted The Abyss and it's variants, I'd probably go with Deschutes in Boston too since they seem to be pretty widespread but not in the northeast. I'd also like Alaskan Brewing here. I would give up Ballast Point, maybe Stone and even Lagunitas. Not sure who counts, but I'd give up plenty of smaller brands too that don't make as many products in our market, like Breckenridge, Shiner, Kona, bunch of other breweries I don't care to drink and will probably never buy, etc.

Founders, Brewdog, and Evil Twin. I guess I don't know enough about certain breweries to know whether they're "regional." What size are we talking here? I mean there are a lot of small breweries distributing to a sizable region. There are bigger breweries that don't distribute far at all. I also don't really have an idea of how big some of the breweries on the West Coast are like Fremont, Russian River, etc.

Don't you already get Bell's in AZ? Just limited areas maybe?

This thread would be tougher for most of us if we had to give up breweries located in our own state, which is what I'm going to do. I'll give up Founders (yep I said it), Atwater and Arbor (not sure of their distro areas but, I am giving up one 'biggie') and in exchange I'd take Fat Heads.

Within state = state (perhaps exceptions for widely distributed across California and Texas. So if New Glarus is Wisconsin only or some trickle over the border into other neighboring state, not sure that is really regional.
Regional = distributed in several states /3+ States
National = across most regions of the country

Exactly. Doesn't everyone know the commandments regarding Sierra Nevada?

    1. Thou shalt not criticize Sierra Nevada in terms of their brewing skills

    2. However, thou shalt mercilessly criticze every choice they make regarding variety packs, distribution, seasonal creep, and difficulties finding their Stout, Vienna, Kellerweis, Tumbler, etc

    3. Forgot the rest. I've been drinking

One of the more best new distros IMO. I haven't come across my favs like Abyss or Jubelale yet, but I might not be looking hard enough

When I first saw it said NJ but then I slowly learned it wasn’t gonna be down here. I think they’d do pretty good with the variety and price point they have. I’m just gonna hope slowly they’ll expand down here. Did jubelale not pop up this past holiday season? Or did deschutes distro not start till after holidays?

In this pocket of PA, I’d give up Founders, Dogfish Head, and maybe even Bell’s for Firestone Walker. And I’d trade all the breweries for Russian River, but I think that stretches the rules a little.

I would be happy to give up on Stone, Sierra Nevada (those beers are too often old), and Ballast Point for more regular drops of Hill Farmstead beers.

5+ years ago it was not too hard to find Hill Farmstead beers on tap at beer bars in the suburbs of Philly. According to the Philly Tap Finder website there are only three bars that have Hill Farmstead beer and they are all in the city (Philly).:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

I'd lose New Belgium, Victory, and Ballast Point (just because I'm bitter they ruined one of my favorite beers). Although I could probably be convinced to keep BP and ditch Stone.

In exchange I'd like Firestone Walker.

Here's a bonus beer that can just disappear from shelves....German importer Wolters. I've had 3 of their beers...all pretty much sucked compared to other German options for same styles. Help keep the other German beers fresher and make this one go away please .
