At the christening party I mentioned earlier. Close to 20 people here, and I think I’m going to spend as much time upstairs and outside instead of in the basement with everybody else.

I know you love the 2-1-5, as well as the 6-1-0, but I gotta ask: Is Yards really that good? My dad loves them, but he needs help. LOL! Haha, no seriously, that good?

Trillium's latest from their Permutation series. This has some really interesting grapefruit vibes going on, and it's layered. I dig it. I just wish they could get a better head on some of their beers. It's quite depressing at times. Like, c'mon, you can do it! Peace...

Clear amber body; excellent carbonation; thick and rocky white head, creamy. Excellent fruity aroma, light and quiet; mild biscuit note. Very fine flavors of peach and other fruits; very mild sweetness; bread crust; medium level of bitterness balancing things out. Medium body; fine coarseness yet also a wonderful wet and slippery quality; mild dryness counters a mild sweetness.

This delightful beer delivers some goods. Subtle esters interact nicely with a soft malt backbone. The hop bitterness comes through nicely midway into the sip and lingers nicely with a slow fade. Delicious and refreshing.

I can not compare this specific one to other NEIPAs. The body is thin in comparison. But I’d say this is definately a very hot weather neipa. It’s nothing but mango, a ton of kiwi and lemon. As for their other beers, every single release is straight fire and my love of them comes from their consistency or what I’d call “beer drinkers beer”. The core line up of Brawler, IPA, Philly Pale and love stout are every single days for me. Then u get into the historical ales from the revolutionary era recipes. Oh lord. Cheers sir.

Just about finished with the taxes. Time for the 1st cold beverage of the afternoon.

Really enjoyed Live Oak's Hefe & Gold that I had last evening. Trying their take on a classic German amber brewing style.

    Dr. Juice

Is Dr. Juice maybe even better than Ghost? That's hard to say. I think I'd need to call in an expert (@TheIPAHunter ) for a ruling. It's different enough that they have their own niche, really.

    Cheers!

I picked up a can of my next beer for today’s NBS, but alas, I drank one last year...so I’ll drink it and post a review here - Surly’s “One Man Mosh Pit”:

Barely opaque deep gold with some clarity (careful pour) still yields yeast particles; fairly fast white head leaves an island of loose bubbles for a cap; same loose bubbles make an incomplete ring, and spotty lace at best. Grapefruit, lemon, onion nose. Taste is more of the same with semi sweet malt base and light skunky hop bitterness; garlicy pineapple/mango finish. Medium light body, clean feel, moderate carbonation; light hop burn on tip of the tongue. Other than the oniony nose (Mosaic) I don’t see, taste, or feel NE IPA style; it’s not juicy, not hazy, not full or fluffy...it’s just another good, unfiltered, barely bitter IPA; I like it ok, but at $6.50/16 oz can I doubt I’ll ever drink again.

Maplewood Fizzle Drizzle Pink Lemonade Imperial Fruited Sour (lemon, strawberry, and raspberry). Quite tart and even sour thanks to the lemon and bacteria. The strawberry comes off sweet and the raspberry is both slightly tart and sweet. This is literally a more tart/sour version of pink lemonade with alcohol, but equally as refreshing. No matter the style of beer, Maplewood doesn’t disappoint.

That picture of the Beach Boys brings back memories. I had tickets to see them at the Worcester MA. auditorium in 1964. They came out in their striped shirts then the audience stormed the stage and they dropped the curtain and it was over. We didn't get our money back either.

Memorial Auditorium, Worcester, MA (8:30 PM Show)

The Beach Boys flew to Boston on Friday afternoon to play one more show, before flying on to Europe on Saturday night. The concert ended up being one of the wildest and most memorable in their career. Fans rioted and the police stopped the show after 14 minutes. After a series of local acts, the Beach Boys went onstage around 9:45 PM. Jack Tubert of the Worcester Telegram reported, “After only two bars of ‘Fun, Fun, Fun,’ two girls were out of their seats. Then six, eight and finally a wave of girls surged to the stage. The 11 policemen were powerless to stop them…the show was stopped at 9:54 p.m. Dick Smith, the master of ceremonies, urged the youngsters to return to their seats so the show could continue. At 10:11, the Beach Boys took off again and within seconds the area in front of the stage was more crowded than it had been before. At 10:16 the curtain came down for good.' During the show, hundreds of teen-agers who had no tickets rioted outside. They broke windows and kicked in two doors. The promoter of the show was furious at the police for stopping the show and claimed that the Beach Boys would never play there again, but in the end the group returned to play a full show in February 1965

I'm not an expert, sir. I'm a fan. I gravitated towards the IPA style early, and I don't regret it. That said, I think Ghost is on another level. Cheers!

Wow . . . someone recently posted that there was a very bad batch of King Sue lately, and I think I unfortunately stumbled upon it, too. Extremely vegetal, hardly any of the juiciness I've come to love, very little haze/body. Something went really wrong with this one, my first King Sue drain pour. :slight_frown:

A very unique and unusual, quite hoppy, Lambic that feels rather light and refreshing, but still has a good, soft complexity and sublime balance, with an intoxicating aroma of rose petals, citrus fruit and oaky, tannic funk.
