Although I believe regular Narwhal benefits from at least a year of aging, Barrel Aged Narwhal needs no such "smoothing" for my palate.

So, no time like the present, then.

Short Throw The Product DIPA (100% Mosaic). Ripe blueberry, pineapple juice, orange pith, ripe tangerine, mango juice, yellow grapefruit, slight lemon, cannabis, rose water, pine. Love me some Mosaic hops and this one delivers the goods. Haven’t been disappointed by a Short Throw beer yet and hope it stays that way.

Double Shot-Costa Rica Montes de Oro from Tree House. Bottle says "2016." Bottle also says "Do Not Age." This is drinking fine. Excellent stout. Cheers!

Another delicious beer from Fox Farm. Kinda old school...danky lemondrop. Nice bitterness. A beer drinker’s IPA, for sure. That gazebo I couldn’t stop cursing a month ago definitely feels nice today. Cheers!

Not my favorite Tree House, but it's solid. It will take you to another level. Shrimp and lobster right now. Perfect chemistry. I love it.

So yesterday, we decided to do an infusion with my homebrew American Stout. Comes in at 6.2% and is very full bodied and quite intense on the roast front, by design.

Took two growlers and filled them up. One with unsweetened toasted coconut and whole coffee beans, the other with homemade molasses cookies. Let sit overnight. Poured gently into a french press to filter and then into our glasses.

We just now cracked the coconut and coffee variant, and it came out great! Completely compliments the base beer. Coffee came through really nicely, just the right amount. The coconut is quite intense, but not a bad thing. Love coconut. Cuts the roast of the base beer and adds some sweet balance, or at least the illusion of sweetness.

Overall, I'd say this one was a winner. I think it actually enhanced the base beer, so that's a success in my book! Look forward to the cookie one!

An interesting color suggesting a blend of cranberry juice and strawberry purée; lively carbonation yet very little in the way of lasting head. Lovely aroma filled with cherry sweetness and a touch of tartness with a smidgen of brett. A strong burst of cherry and raspberry flavor right off; an amazing blend of tartness and sweetness perfectly balanced; an incredible sweet and sour taste. Heavy body yet airy; tart and acidic balanced with cherry sweetness.

If you want something different, this is a beer to try! It is very much a fruit-forward lambic, highlighting sour cherries but also using raspberries (per the bottle label). The blending of this beer is truly artful, the result being a stupendous and lovely beer.

That 3Fonteinen Hommage will always have a soft spot for nostalgia's sake. Was one of the last bottles I shared with friends at the now-closed Brewer's Republic in COS. It's one of those top 3 Belgian beers for me... cheers!

Well, I just reviewed 4 new beers at the NBS thread. Was kind of disappointed overall. The OEC Brewing Coolship Lager Americana was the best of the bunch, and is a good lager. Though there are many locally made that are its equal at least. Not that that has the be the bar, but anyway, check them out if you want. The De Ranke Saison was especially disappointing.

    Here is the OEC lager

Gently grilling a half dozen Beau Soleil oysters while savoring a Lone Pine Chaos Emeralds. Looks like it might rain any minute, but life is good.

At least for me. Maybe not so much for the oysters....
