[IMG] So yesterday was Sunday and I picked this up at a sandwich shop in Old Orchard beach. I knew nothing about the brewery besides someone at my second job asked if we had it. I saw it was canned on 7/7/2020 and new I needed to try it. My son spilled the first one on accident, but not this morning.

Poured into a 13 oz long stem tulip. Pours a hazy orange with a massive 2 plus finger head, that leaves big thick streaks of lace yielding amazing retention. 4.75

Smell is tangerine, ripe melon, pineapple, papaya, passionfruit, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, cantaloupe, passionfruit, papaya, pineapple, and apricot really really tasty and balanced, crazy low on bitterness and very juicy. 4.75

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, really soft carbonation, slightly sticky but never dry, and at 7% goes down really easy but packing loads of flavor. 5

Overall I will be looking for more of this one from Boothbay Craft Brewery. I am very impressed with this NEIPA Thirsty Botanist. 4.75

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz can shaped pint glass, canned on 7/7/20. Pours a amber brown with a 2 finger off white creamy looking head that leaves some thin lines of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Smell vanilla beans, hazelnut, cocoa nibs, caramel, toffee, and faint coffee. 4.25

Taste follows vanilla, cocoa, caramel, hazelnut, toffee, and a lingering coffee finish. 4.25

Mouthfeel is about medium, soft gentle carbonation, maybe a little dry, and at 7.2% goes down really easy. 4.25

Overall this is a nice blonde stout, that I would purchase if they made it again. Gives you a lot of the stout flavors with being too filling. Really well done. 4.25

I am sitting in my backyard, the cicadas are having a party. The weather is beautiful. I am drinking Lou Pepe Kriek from Brassiere Cantillon, ABV 5.00%, 75cl. It was made by adding more cherries to two year old cherry Lambic (Schaarbeekse). It was aged in oak barrels. It was bottled on September 8 2010. The aroma is cherry pie and red wine. The flavor is wheat/grain, tart and slightly sweet cherry, lots of cherry, some funk/vinegar, red wine and oak. It is well balanced and delicious. I am imagining myself being in the garden of a Belgian Brassiere.

@russpowell re: your post #103 from yesterday's New Beer Sunday asking what does fish oil do for the pup?:

The fish oil just makes him happy in that he gets another treat (like grabbing my wife's shoes makes him happy).

Personally, I don't think it does much for him although some dog organizations and veterinary institutions report it may help with various inflammatory disorders, promote heart health, and help with a healthy coat.

All I know is if he hears the words "nutritional supplement" or if I give the fish oil bottle a good shake or two, wherever he is in the house, he'll be there to get his capsule...

Nice enough today to go out and about mid-day with cooler (80s) temps, but the heat and humidity returns for the weekend. Meh.

    Grateful Dead Hour tonight!

Good Monday morning BAs! Chores done, so I’m relaxing inside (outside it’s 84°, 77% humidity, feels like 93°, sunny)...Peche Mortel:

Bottled 2016-10-14. Poured at 54°. Fantastic coffee stout from Brasserie Dieu du Ciel, Canada. Four years young and the coffee is still strong in nose/on tongue. The liquor store had a bunch on the shelf, so I grabbed four. Not cheap at $4.49 bottle, but I love it.

Our next door neighbors have a family farm in Canada (husband is Canadian citizen) and the border has opened to spouses, so they have gone north for the rest of the summer, and left us access to the “cement pond”...Yippee! Cheers y’all!

N[IMG] Nothing special, nice price and a typical Stone offering. Some bitterness and a little over the top citrus.

Some of you guys will remember this pic from Saturday as we cruised up in the mountains.

Well, we liked the area so much we went back and brought our camper to stay awhile.

It did make it tough to turn around though.
    :beers:
