Ok, I think I’m down to the final haul post. This one coming from @r0rschach , who as you know is a damn flat rate wizard. John packed in tons of new breweries and beers that are just my style! This was a second box, due to USPS accepting, yet not acknowledging the first. Thanks again John!

Everything is intact, including the delicate glass. Except the pork jerky. That’s not holding up too well.

Tilquin - Gueuzerable Tilquin (2017 - 2018) - A big want of mine! Lambic brewed with maple syrup that clocks in at 10%.

Deschutes Black Mirror - 13% American Barleywine. Very excited to try this!

Modern Times Deeds & Exploits. 14.3% Blended strong age in bourbon barrels with coffee and vanilla. This sounds incredible.

Modern Times Pharaoh Ascendant: Oatmeal Cookie Edition. 12.5% Imperial Stout with Vanilla, Toasted Oats, Cinnamon, Brown Sugar, and Amburana Bark.

Inu Island Ales - Chikara Mizu. 13.5% Imperial Stout with Madagascar Vanilla Beans, with beautiful proper glassware:



Always wanted to try this brewery seeing you and others checking them in. Super psyched!

So, Mr. @Nichols33 strikes again. This time with a sweet swag/food box that included a couple new ticks.


First, chocolate lavender almonds from Q's Nuts, followed by some Flagship Blend coffee from Treehouse, stone ground mustard made with Mo pale ale from Maine Beer Co, a sweet glass and a new collar for the pooch from Trillium and a Focal Banger sticker. Jeff was kind enough to include a couple beers-Juice Machine (want) and New Flesh from Freaky Folk Bier. Both are new ticks for me. Thanks so much Jeff. Incredibly thoughtful and generous.

 

Very moist packages dropping all around the country. Thank you @TheGent and @FlintB for inviting me into such an excellent group.

Getting after @TheGent ’s big blind beer. I had my suspicions on what brand it could be...

I’ve been fortunate to try some of these variants of beers from members of this group and I am just as excited to try this one. I gave some to my wife to assist too.

Pours dark with an opaque body, minimal khaki colored head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, bourbon, caramel, coconut, cinnamon.
Taste: chocolate, big coffee initially, cherry pits, and more coffee at the finish. Dark chocolate, burnt coffee ( in a good way). Spicy cinnamon.

Smooth, velvety, low carbonation.

This is a Bourbon County...does not taste like the bourbon county coffee I’ve had. It’s definitely a new variety that I’ve not had. It is tasty as always

I was ready to reveal the beer and Mrs. Strohme2 said:
“I have to live with you being a nerd, let me see what it is” She asked me what I thought it might be and I said the Cafe de Olla.



I didn’t get much in the way of orange peel or citrus. The coffee and cinnamon Is definitely present especially as it warms.

Super happy to get to try it, thanks Anthony! It was a nice sipper sitting on the back deck.

@Franfab dropped some Garrett popcorn on me because I need to gain more quarantine weight. It's a mixture of caramel and cheese popcorn. The caramel popcorn in particular is crazy good.
