RIP: rudzud

    This past weekend we lost a longtime BeerAdvocate. @rudzud was a big fan of BA, a Poo-Bah, one of our top beer reviewers, a valuable member of our community, and celebrated 10 years on the site back in April.

    My thoughts go out to his family and friends. I know he'll be missed by many here, too.

    So sorry to read this. I had no contact with him but my deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

    Very sad to hear, even though I didn't know him personally.

    It just emphasizes that this is about community. Every time we have a loss, it impacts us - much more so for those who had a relationship with him, by communication, trading, or personally.

    That it happened via an automobile accident - itself a capricious and unnecessary event that takes someone away far too soon - is just even more cruel.

    Oh man, this is so sad, such a nice guy. I remember trading with him and even chatting with him afterwards just talking about random stuff and the love of Kate the great. He will be missed.

    RIP fellow advocate. I didn’t know him personally, either but it’s a tragic loss. Kind of you Todd to start a thread to remember him. Huge community yet a small family, BA.

    When I first read this thread the handle looked familiar. I looked back at my trade history and as it turns out, he was one of my last logged trades on this site. I read back through our conversation and he was a pleasant dude. Very sorry to hear about this. My condolences to the family. RIP @rudzud

    Like some others I had contact with him through beer trading, and by using his excellent reviews, but never met him. Always sorry to lose a member of the community who was as passionate about great beer as was he. RIP rudzud

    Thank you Todd. He would have loved to see everyone's posts.

    This is incredibly difficult for me as we were great friends. If you look back at our reviews you'll see that we shared many beers together. I'll miss him greatly, but he'll always be in my thoughts every time I drink a beer.

    To everyone reading this. Life is very precious. Live every moment to its fullest, because you never know when your time is up.
