Are you a mug club member? I know MD is their release they typically always give to MC members as well so maybe that’s why non-entries have been getting emails.

If history repeats itself with MD usually they have extra they sell after or again in KBBS release that last the whole weekend so should be able to get some if there is no round robin.

I am more of the IPA guy while my wife and brother and really into regular and BBA stouts. MD is fine beer, my issue is that MD is currently on tap, $35 for half growler. I see this latest release a just a even shittier money grab.

My brother and I were both mug club members for about 4 years, but we let that lapse sometime ago.

MD is a non BA stout that is priced like a top tier BA stout.

It is the same price as a BBT.

Well I know that MD is taxed so you end up around 100 for the two but can't remember if BBT is.

Regardless, it's a bit much, especially considering the options available. As always, the option to just not buy it is there, so I won't

With the cost of For Gabe being what it is, I would not be surprised to see BBT be more expensive this year. Plus, it makes sense to raise the price to help the employees out as well. We'll see.

Went to Decorah for Mornin’ Delight bottles on Saturday (my own and as proxy for a few folks). Release was pretty smooth. My pick up window was at 11AM, so when I got there right at that time and saw 20 cars in front of me, I thought this was going to be a disaster. But surprisingly they cleared the queue pretty efficiently and then there were no more car lines.

The place was open for business, indoor and outdoor, with lower crowds admitted for inside dining. They did a really good job opening a big space outside with tents and tables, and two pour/tap areas. I was able to get a few pours and sit by myself with no one within 15+ yards of me. I was happy about that but also confused how people prefer sitting indoors, especially considering the current situation we're in, versus a beautiful low 70s and sunny day outside. All the tables were taken up inside at one point. Some people didn't wear masks, but most did.

The one thing they still really need to work out is their efficiency at point of sale. It just takes so long to get through a relatively short line, and I know their staff is doing the best with what they're given. They were very friendly. But for my last pour, I probably stood in line for 10 minutes and there may have been 7-8 people in front of me with two points of sale open. Something needs to be changed to speed that up because by the time I left around 1PM, the tap area outside with MD and Term Oils was starting to really build.

The beers were great. MD b7>b6>b4, but still behind b5 for me out of the ones I tried. The Term Oils were also solid, but the highlight was probably that DDH King Sue. In spite of the appearance difference from 5 years ago, this is what I remember taste being like: soooo much Citra. Been a long time since I've had a beer put Citra hop front and center, and in a big way like that. It also didn't have that grossly sweet and syrupy feel at the end like many DIPAs (and IPAs) in that style today. The mouthfeel had a bit of drying and bitterness at the end that helped offset the sweetness. I bought the full case limit, but would have bought more had I been allowed.

Nice update. Glad to hear maple this year on draft. Usually to me draft is heavy coffee and light maple. I will be heading down today once off call to pick up my brother bottles and some of his friends so looking forward to grabbing a taste on draft and term oil 20-A. Love this series
