What breweries are allowing onsite drinking currently? Which aren’t?

Need a quick out of town trip and was thinking about venturing over the mountain if we could enjoy some beers onsite safely.

    TIA!

Am I in the wrong region?

Right region maybe no one from Asheville has checked in.
According to Burial’s social media accounts they look to be open.

I was there last weekend. Seemed like most of the breweries were open, with Sierra Nevada's Mills River the primary exception (unlikely to open until October) - I'm sure a few others are probably still closed too. Breweries on the Slope were pretty crowded and, for lack of a better word, drunk - especially Burial and Wicked Weed/Funkatorium - so venturing out to lesser known spots was my MO. Zillicoah, with an abundance of outdoor space and some killer lagers, was my favorite - Eurisko, just past Burial, was solid as well. Didn't get to visit DSSLVR, but they're on my list and were open. Old favorites with more space, like Hi-Wire and Green Man, were open as well, just ran out of time.

Above post pretty much covers it. Funkatorium os currently closed due to some staff testing positive for Covid. Most restaurants are still to go only. A lot are still closed. There is a mandatory mask order in place.

Go to website of brewery you want to visit. Almost all have special instructions about what's going on. Same for Instagram and Facebook.

Just got back from short trip there, hit a number of breweries and the procedure was pretty standard. Wear a mask to enter, no table service was the norm and you wear a mask whenever you go up to order a beer. Don't have to wear a mask at your table as long as seated. Many places have updated their layouts with mostly outdoor seating. Dssolver was takeout only Monday and Tuesday but was opening up for on premise on Wed thru the weekend. The places we went were all good, Burial was exceptional.

Didn’t realize most restaurants were to go only still.

Thanks for all the info everyone!

I was there last week and johnyb's post pretty much covers it. It was a great time to visit, despite the restrictions. Burial released a bunch of great stuff last week and still has some available that you can order now and I believe they will hold for 5 days. We did to-go for almost all of our food, but there were some places offering patio dining or limited indoor dining from what I could tell. White labs was the only place we didn't do to-go and that was outdoors .

on this note, its been a couple of years I have been out to Ashevlle area. I'll be there first week of august. Any breweries/tap rooms open of late that should be on my radar? also, any in surrounding mountain towns that are worthy a visit either on beer selection or tap room design/layout alone.

    Thank you in advance.

Wicked Weed just closed temporally due to an employee testing positive, but the Funkatorium has re-opened.
I'd say most are open now. I know SN is not, but New Belgium has re-opened.

I’m here. Had a great first day!

Spent 5 hours at the Biltmore. Dinner and a beer at White Labs followed by several awesome pours at Burial. Looking forward to hitting a few more spots today

Agree with others. Stay home & enjoy free delivery/hands free takeout. A few breweries are big enough to have ample outside seating, but they are being overrun with day trippers & the infection rate is back where it was months ago. Don't bring growlers either. Most are only filling new containers.

Picked up a bunch of beer at Hi-Wire today. Ordered on line, they brought it out and put it in the back of the car.

While we were out we did drive around a bit. Big line up the sidewalk at Funkatorium, and virtually no masks, maybe 30%, or social distancing. Greenman, Catawba, and a few others seemed much saner.

My experience at White Labs, Dssolvr & Burial were all great. Everyone had a mask on at all times when not seated. Everyone was spaced out while seated. Ppl stayed appropriately spaced while in lines with masks on.

    Had a great, safe trip!

So my wife and a few of our closest friends are plannin' like a 6-person trip to Asheville the first or second weekend of November. Just goin' with what I'm seein' here I should mostly check with the breweries I might wanna hit ahead of time to check whether they are open or what the current rules are? Other than Burial I have no real game plan. Is Asheville Brewing Co. still a thing? I always enjoyed them when they used to be at Bonnaroo way back in the day!

    Many thanks!

Yep. An ABC pizza and a pint of Fire Escape pale always hits the spot after a long day of drinking through the South Slope.
Check Facebook/Instagram/websites for info related to new procedures. There's a good map by the NC Beer Guys to see the breweries in the area. Feels like there's always a new one every time I look.

Any talk about when Sierra Nevada might be opening back up? Making another trek over the mountains to Asheville in a couple of weeks.

They're closed for rest of 2020 at least.
