Heat index was 107 degrees. Yours truly decided to go out and do some yard work. Big mistake. My dad was right when he said I sometimes have shit for brains.

Anyway this beer is helping put back some fluids.

Nice and jazzy, I used to listen to David sanborn every sunday morning back in the day, and while I don't know if your tune is jazz, it sounded like a jazz tune to me.

    Cheers

Brutal heat up here in Boston area today. Had to be rough in places further south.

Having another Counter Weight Headway. And enjoying it.

1st beer of the day. Mithril Clouds, from Varietal.

As the latter picture of the label shows, central Washington has some pretty amazing sunsets.
The beer itself wasn't much to look at in the glass, but it has drinkability for days.

Larry - forgot to tell you I tried this recipe of yours last weekend over at my parents house. My dad isn't a huge fan of chicken, but needless to say, we all loved it and meat was super tender. A winner for sure!

Final pour of the day, Lake Effect Brewing's Caddy Pale Ale, a light pale ale in taste and alcohol (5%), reviewed in the New Beer Sunday thread.

This pour was brewed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Caddyshack!

Another good beer from northern Florida; in this case, Apalachicola. This is a flavorful dirty blonde ale. I once know a dirty blonde, and she was pretty good too.

Today I made my own since I was up early and felt ambitious. Otherwise I use Walker's Wood of Busha Browne's jerk sauce. But I add a TBSP or two of this dry jerk seasoning I got from Spice Jungle which is outstanding - I just got 16 ozs of it because it sells out very quickly. ''

Did five miles in the blistering heat and knew that after I cooled down it was beer time with dinner. But what to drink? A crisp and refreshing Lager always hits the spot in times like these but I was in the mood for something different, something that I haven't had in a while. Stopped at the store and saw 19.2 oz cans of Founders Centennial canned on 07/03 for $1.99. Well don't mind if I do!

Pours darker than I remember and a huge head due to my slow pour. On the nose hops but a lot of sweet malts. First sip there is a nice hop bite but mostly some crisp dark malts, almost a burned, smokey-ish flavor on the bank end. This beer definitely takes me back to some of the OS IPAs. Definitely enjoyable for me because I don't care for super bitter pine plus caramel malts but this is not that, smoother and softer. I need to do a side by side between this and Two Hearted sometime... different beers for sure but would be neat to see which one my palate prefers back to back.

I wish there were more single hopped beers. Too many brewers throw every hop and the kitchen sink into IPAs and that can be what sometimes turns me off about them, way too much going on.
