Dang, I didn’t even buy MB Ryeway and they gave* me a free** sixer of Ghost Ride when I walked by.

*I insulted them until they started whipping cans at my head.
**Not counting what I spent on band-aids and Neosporin.

I only bought 1 x 4pk of MB Ryeway and the dude didn't even ask...a 6pk of Ghost Ride went right next to it my back seat. Thanks, Rev!

Picked up 8 x 4 packs (proxy for several friends) of Mixed Berry Ryeway, and they gave me a case of Ghost Ride. Super easy and best curbside pick-up by Rev. Dude wouldn't accept my cash tip but understand why.

I came here to praise Rev until I saw you got 4x the Ghost Ride I did. In all seriousness, I feel for Rev being overextended on that beer but really appreciate what they did for their customers. This is the type of loyalty worth remembering

Good on Rev for giving away free beer, and I’m certainly not complaining, but this kolsch sucks. Just being honest.

this reminds me of my favorite internet joke from twitter:

It’s not blowing anyone away, but it’s fine. It’s no Dovetail, that's for sure. But “sucks” is not an appropriate term. It’s a few months old now, which is probably why they are clearing inventory.

What's odd is I couldn't understand the love for dovetails. It's a fine kolsch, but at the end of the day, maybe kolsch is just beer to me. Nothing special, nothing great, just beer. That said, if Rev ever wants to give me free beer I'm absolutely fine with it and will not complain.

Some “just beers” are perfect. The term “dialing in” got made famous by the hazy IPA style but dialing in has always been a thing for any brewery worth their salt.

Allagash White is a perfect to most brewers or wheat beer fans. Allagash White is “just beer” to many beer geeks. Same with beers like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Rothaus, Orval, Stiegl Radler, ect ect. If an IPA drinker orders an Allagash, and they end up perceiving it as “just another beer” that’s fine. But the Allagash is going to impress a regular wheat beer drinker with it’s precision and harmony, something the ipa drinker doesn’t have the experience to realize. This happens with many people the other way around. Ipa drinker tries to get a friend into beer and gives him “the best ipa ever”. The novice gets his palette blown on by a west coast ipa, and quits craft beer because there’s no way he could understand the perfectness of that beer without the context. And hence the New England ipa was born.

I hear you about other styles, perfection, and recognizing it outside of IPAs. I'm a fan of DT's Vienna Lager & Pilsner. Their Kolsch was still just "beer". Anyways, back to Rev. Skipped Mixed Berry to save pennies. When Thundertaker? When?!? :sunglasses:

I gladly accepted the Ghost Ride 6-pack, and it's a "fine" Kolsch. I'll definitely drink the rest of my cans this weekend, but it's nothing special. Dovetail's has me saying, "god damn, that's good" after each sip, and it's definitely the best overall beer I've had this year so far. To each their own though.

Berry Ryeway tasting pretty good. 2018 Bramble wishes it could be half this good.

Won’t lie though, seeing 3 month old IPA in my trunk, straight from the factory, was pretty lousy. The 12 free beers certainly made up for it though.

So inventory clearance was the reason for free Ghost Ride. Apparently they couldn’t give enough away!

I just saw someone is selling a 6 pack on My Beer Collectibles for $6.00 + $16.00 shipping. Shameless!
