So, I’m sure I’ve posted this 8in precious years but breweries are popping up left and right and some are now making better beer than they used to.

We make a yearly trek to Cape May and are planning to go again next month. I may try to stop somewhere along the way to grab some cans for vacation.

Any breweries in South Jersey currently doing great things that have cans to go? I am planning on getting a bunch of CMBC beers, but would like to try some others as well.

Tonewood in Oaklyn, depending on your route, though they distribute well in much of NJ, so bit necessarily a need to go directly if you check beer menus or Untappd. Not sure offhand but I'm sure you can find a place with Kane's core offerings (I prefer Sneakbox to head high or overhead). Icarus delivers but not sure on how often they'd come down there or distribute. Solid NE style IPAs and pales, nothing crazy but often solid.

Saw Tonewood Fuego down there last year, but it was old. As far as Kane, had Sneakbox and Head High down there last year as well and really enjoyed both. I agree Sneakbox was better. Have heard great things about Icarus, but it’s out of the way. Guess I will have to look for Tonewood again and see if I can grab some.

Bonesaw, if they brew shore town again (assuming it’s gone but don’t know for sure). I can’t believe that was brewed locally. Flawless crystal clear lager. Came out late June so it may still be hanging around. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it if I saw it again.

Check out Slack Tide Brewing on Route 83 in Clermont. It's right off Route 9. It's one of my favorites in the area. Also, COHO Brewing in Cape May Court House is worth a visit.

Big Slack Tide fan, so that’s a good idea since I’ve never been there. I may have to look at COHO too based on your recommendation.

Heard amazing things about Gusto, but I don’t think they were canning last year.

Depends on how you go, but via Rt 55 from Philadelphia will open up the possibilities of not only Tonewood but Bonesaw in Glassboro and Glasstown in Millville.

Another thing to consider is that Clayton Liquors could almost be a one stop shop. Check out the growler station tap list on Untappd to see if anything strikes your fancy. Also, when I shopped there they were getting direct can deliveries from a lot of the local brewers (the pandemic may have affected that, however.)

Btw, Tonewood Poolside is really good stuff!

I'll throw in another recommendation for Bonesaw. Shore town is great but they have other canned offerings that are good as well. They distro down near Cape May if you can't stop at the brewery. I bought shore town from Joe Canals in Rio Grande.

Carton distributes a good amount to Cape May. Gorman's had a decent selection and pretty fresh.

Gusto is certainly worth the trip. They do 25oz growlers with online ordering to pickup. Different variety than you'll find elsewhere in the area.

In early July when I was down there I didn't actually go to CMBC because they didn't have anything on tap that I couldn't get in the stores. That may have changed now. You'll also find a great selection of slack tide and Ludlam island in the liquor stores or at acme.

Was considering Glasstown. The stuff I have had from them was very good and it’s not really out of the way. Will check on Clayton Liquors on Untappd too. Good call!
