I get up at 4am regularly for work and even drinking a beer above 10% around 7-8pm is pushing it. Being a dad and old changes you quick lol.

I tried FO2020 tonight and I thought it was much hotter than prior years. Once I got used to the burn, it was pretty good. Vanilla, creamy, chocolate, some roast, and even some berry on the back. It was significantly better as it approached air temperature (I was there in the evening, side note, that Beef n Cheddar is fucking delicious). It was pretty interesting, I'll max it cause its FO, but I might sit on this batch for awhile before opening any of them

Really liked Prodigal Physics. It was again a bit hot at first but not as much as FO2020. Barrel/burn on the front, Chocolate in the middle, and creamy strawberry on the back. This one was also better as it got warmer. By the time I was done with it, it was nearly air temperature but it tasted great, like chocolate covered strawberries but creamier. Great choice as a complimentary bottle to FO!

Prodigal Physics is pretty good. Definitely has a neapolitan ice cream vibe to it. Will say though, it doesn’t even come close to Rare Scoop. Seems like a lot of breweries try to do neapolitan stouts, but so far Cycle is the only one that I can think of that executed it perfectly. Wonder why it seems to be such a hard flavor profile to nail down.

    It isn’t. That’s hype you’re tasting.

When I had RareR Scooop I was massively disappointed to the point that I thought that Saugatuak's version was better.

Then when I was completely shitfaced at DLD last year and FO Mooore Rare Scoop came on draft I loved it more than FFF's somewhat Neapolitan (+coconut) DL variant Rrari Crochet...but even that said, my wrecked palate didn't detect a whole lot of strawberry there either.

Cycle has done some good stuff to be sure, but nothing I've ever had by them has blown BL out of the water, and to me, they rarely stand toe to toe with BL. As far as what I consider my own personally highly rated brews, I have 17 BL to 4 Cycle, and I've visited Cycle several times and had way more of their brew by volume.

And don't get me started on all the Modern Times hype this past year.

I respectfully disagree. OG Rare Scooop is a gem. All of the follow-ups to the OG have been ok to pretty dang good (i.e. Rarer Scooop, Mooore Rare Scooop, and this year’s Rare Scooop), but OG was just on another level.

BA Double Rainbow was really good though I’ve never had Scoop. I look forward to BL’s take on it.

Yesterday, I split a shared 16oz crowler of Hypermash Hydra that I had traded for. Given the format and the travel involved, I was pleased that it had enough carb weeks later. I thought it was pretty cinnamon forward with the coconut and coffee going more into the background along with the barrel. Really good beer and I’d like to score a legit bottle of it at some point to drink again.

I was put in the waiting room for about 10 minutes, then it said it was my turn, and I completed my order.

    But it wasn't frozen.
