I will taking a road trip, almost all the way across this beautiful country which we call the United States. I’m looking for top-notch breweries to hit along the way. I will be looking for beer in the following states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. If you know of any dank breweries in those states, please hook me up with some recommendations! Thanks a lot!

Off the top of my head and depending on the route you're taking:

    WI - New Glarus
    MN - Surly
    SD - Fernson

Might as well take a side trip into Iowa for Toppling Goliath while you're at it.

Selkirk Abbey in the Idaho Panhandle. Then it's a quick hop over the border to Spokane WA, where there are several top notch breweries.

Welcome to the BA site, Ronkrisin. You've found a great resource for anything about beer, including traveling to find the good breweries and beers.

It will be helpful to know your intended route and how far you are willing to deviate from it to visit a place.

Also, a great feature of this site is something called Places. https://www.beeradvocate.com/place/ By filing in a state/city and qualifying your search to Breweries, good beer Bars, Eateries with a good beer list, etc you get access to the BA database. It's a great tool for planning trips.

Selkirk and a couple other breweries might be the only reasons to ever stop in the racist cesspool that is Northern Idaho.

Is this a sting? No offense, but you sound like a cop.

Well, and the scenery. The racist, racist scenery.

Side note: Selkirk Abbey is one of very few non-Seattle, non-Portland, non-San Diego breweries I think I’ve actually visited. If only for 10 minutes to grab some bottles on my way back to Sodom on the Sound.

Technically, T-town is South Sound. They're very provincial that way.

Plus, they've got the aroma going for them. Which is nice.
