    My 6 year old granddaughter dropped a hole in one on me but I had a fairly comfortable 10 stroke lead on her. Cheers.

    The GF decided to get Disney+ so I've been looking at some films of old that are available. Started Fantasia last night, figured might pick up with it again this afternoon. Definitely picking up this tripel hop beer this afternoon and putting it into an appropriate face-hole.

    Nice reddish-brown body, clear; slow rising carbonation; thick and fluffy bone colored head. Fine toasted malt smell; roasted nuts; a bit of brown sugar. Nuts and toffee flavors; cocoa powder; mild bitterness; a touch of alcohol presence. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; some dryness offset with a mild overall sweetness.

    This beer delivers some fine flavors and the mouthfeel is outstanding. It leans towards a slightly sweet and soft side of things with great all-around depth and balance.

    Ha! Same with the 9 year old today. You would have thought he won the Masters based on the celebration that followed. I told him we'll check the scorecard when we're done.

    Stopped in for lunch at Urban Hamlet in Bronxville, NY. The host was very knowledgeable about beer, so we chatted after I selected this to start:

    Ordered the Potato and Leak soup and their signature burger. Tried a few samples after that, but found myself impressed by Captain Lawrence Citra Dreams. Just so smooth and creamy (so much so, I had to take a sip before the picture --look at the lacing).

    First time my wife and I have been able to eat at a restaurant indoors since March, which only added to a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. This was playing and seemed appropriate:



    Weezer has a solid cover, but I do prefer the Turtles.

    Must Kuld (Black Gold) Porter from Pohjala Brewery in Estonia, which is not a country that usually leaps to mind regarding beer. Nonetheless, a great beer from a brewery I hope to see more of in the future. Cheers.

    Staycation Day 4: Exterior painting until the rain showed up, then I did some bookkeeping until I remembered that it was a staycation and could stop and have a beer.

    There is a new John McCutcheon album. I've followed all of his career twists and turns for forty years.
