Wow. What other digital platforms are in a comparable price range? I subscribe to a couple different media outlets and pay under 100$ for one year that includes multiple hours a week of audio, archives, forums, events, and other odds and ends. I have a hard time understanding who this would be appealing to

My guess is this is geared at industry people who have a budget for trade publications.

Is brewbound a "trade publication" like that? I've only ever read the odd article linked on here but it always seemed geared to the "hobbyist" consumer than to industry insiders. Either way, hope they survive, the articles I've read have always been a step above the run of the mill beer blogs

Eh, it's just a bit more than a buck a day. It might be worth it to some folks. Say you run a regional blog, but want a source to keep up with areas outside yours. It'd be a write-off on the taxes.

BEER BUSINESS DAILY is $715/year and its sister pub, CRAFT BUSINESS DAILY is $500.

BEER MARKETERS INSIGHTS' newsletter, print ed, 23 issues a year, is $845.

Yeah, Brewbound did always seem to be aimed with both the beer geek and industry members (likely some overlap in that Venn diagram) in mind but it is owned by BEVNET, which covers the greater beverage industry.

Used to be real "hard copy" industry pubs were cheap to subscribe to - sometimes they were free - since they depended mostly on their ad revenue but like all print, that's obviously just not the case anymore.

Well, given the apparent market for insider info on the beer market I guess brew bound priced it right. It will be interesting to see (hear, I guess?) how they evolve given the likely shift in their readership demographics

Hell, I'd throw 'em 25¢ for every article I wanted to read... but I'm not paying no month wages (circa 1970 dollars - still my favorites).
