Rare non Hellish August day here. I decided to go over to Natural Falls State Park in Oklahoma for a hike. Did about 100 minutes of hiking & that was enough, been a while & elevation gains were wearing my ass out. The trail above the falls & down at the pool were more crowded than I cared for, so I didn't linger there. Bear & Ghost **** Trail were more to my liking, quiet & almost devoid of people. I will go back in the fall & check out the one trail I skipped & maybe linger at the falls longer.

Wrapped up my staycation with some exterior painting and a visit to the office to check my snail mail. An REI store is going in three blocks from my house, visible from my driveway. It opens in two weeks and I can see workers in it at 7 am on weekdays as well as today, on Sunday. It is in the same development as our minor league baseball park. In a normal year I would go to a game at least once a week. Thanks to AmBev hegemony the craft selection at the ballpark includes

Wicked Weed Pernicious. Back to work on Monday, trying to get through this year unscathed.

 

Will trade beer for Malort. Where's the sun? Fall is here at last.

While I’m waiting for Dovetail’s Festbier to be ready (which I’m told will be in the very near future), why not some Half Acre that’s sporting a new package. Fantastic on draft and fantastic out of the can this year! It may be early for a marzen but when it’s a stellar beer time means nothing!

 

It's turned into a really nice afternoon for some deck drinking. I'm loving this Keller Lager from Carton that is brewed with locally-grown ingredients and hops that would have been available in eighteenth century New Jersey. It's so flavorful! Freehold must have had a great craft beer scene in the 1770's. Cheers!

 

Watching NBA games all day drinking some quality beers. Life is good cheers
