Thanks everyone for the info. I don't follow Revolution as closely as some other Breweries. I agree with CB_Mich, not my fave, and honestly not even won me over, but I don't mind the newer Deep Woods stuff. Glad to hear my SJ should be ok. I'll let you know next week.

 

The Mystery Box is an interesting approach. Very Dark Lord-esque. Except you won't get a Greatest Teachable Moments as your lone beer (or three), and it's not going to cost you $200 to play.

2 different cans and merch. Guy Fawkes would know best as judging by his posts he is on the daily mystery box subscription level.

Oh, I stand corrected as I went off the curbside PU page and they don't have it on there since it is brewpub only.

 

I swung by at lunch...struck out on VSOJ. Got a 2018 Deth Star, 2017 VSOD, Vanilla Deth & Mineshaft Gap.

Plus a crowler of the 2018 VSO Lynott's Stout.

Would have LOVED a VSOJ, but I'm happy with the haul.

 

I spent last summer drinking the 2017 and 2018 draft Lynott’s stouts. Would love a draft pour, 32 oz is too much.

I’m surprised they didn’t keep this and the Friday release draft only to encourage business for their waitstaff. However, Friday was crowded, not sure if because of release or people are feeling safer in general.

Their brewery had 5 people my first visit, and about a dozen the second visit during their limited reopen (50 capacity). Revolution (and every brewery I’ve been to) has done a great job at operating as safe as possible.

 

Did you live in a Covid hot spot last summer?

 

Rolled the dice and pulled VSOD 19, Mineshaft, Deth by Cherries, and Code Switch, none of which I have on hand any longer so pretty happy about that. Obviously would have been nice to luck in to VSOJ or VSOR (original releases I missed because of my wife's birthday and an anniversary trip) but these are all of such high quality I'll still call it a win.

 

They had both Lynott’s on draft at the Brewpub last July and August.

Missing the Rev / Half Acre drafts (they are not sure if Rev/Half Acre drafts are returning soon) at the in bar doing it right by me.

Hope Revolution is able to host the pre release Deep Woods previews here (The Garage in Norwood Park) and at other bars like they did last year. Also hope the Saxophone player is safe and able to return to the release line at the brewery.

Yes, these are likely pipe-dreams as The Rona will reek havoc over the next few years.

Mystery Box 4 packs are gone from the brewpub...but they teased that they'll have them again sometime.

The 100% VSOJ-free 2 packs are still available from the taproom.

 

The Mixed Berry Ryeway is on tap at Pints in Elmhurst. The Brewery of the month is Revolution, so they are doing some cool things to celebrate.

 

Would you do me a huge favor and post in a few days that you cracked your VSOJ and that it has "fallen off" and is "a shell of its former self".

This would make me feel better.
