Dovetail 2020

I finally got my hands on Dovetail Kolsch. Super good. I’m going from memory here, but I recall Kid Kolsch having a lighter body, though equally flavorful. In fact, more flavorful than I would have thought. I think I like them both equally differently. Is it the open fermentation that make both these so distinctive?

Kid Kolsch is what turned me on to Kolsch to begin with, after never really finding one I liked. Makes me think I should try Krankshaft again. Maybe I didn’t know what to look for/expect when I had it long ago.

 

Seems this has hit distro. Picked one up today.

 

Haven't seen any brewery announcement on its release but Festbier appears to be making the distro rounds. Looking forward to trying it. Also, CDL should be making a return soon I believe...

 

Anyone else sick of Dovetail drops never covering where you live?

 

No CDL this fall -- we had to move it to make way to make more of the flagship beers. It's a good problem. Hopefully, in the winter. We had some other really cool one-offs planned that I also hope we'll be able to circle back to.

Where do you live?

 

We never saw Kolsch downstate. Makes me sad. Having plenty of Helles around makes up for it. Mostly.

Made it to Dovetail today, kolschbock was great and think I like it more than the regular. Festbier was excellent as well. Have to give it to them for making everyone feel safe, well done.

 

For those that have done gotten a Dovetail Drop before, do you get a heads up on what time they plan to deliver to you? The site just says between 12pm-8:30pm. I don't want to go for a walk this afternoon, and end up not being home when the delivery shows up.

 

To close the loop it was already delivered. No heads up, but they just leave it at your doorstep so I guess it doesn't matter if you're home or not.

Can't wait to get into some Kolschbock this weekend.

Is the Helles in 6 packs? Are any of the beers in 6 packs? Are they planning on distributing to WI regularly? Had the Helles at Drunk Uncle this weekend and it was great.
