Had no idea about any of that, but it doesn’t surprise me. And I’ll play along with the intrigue. For instance, IF he was indeed voted out as CEO as reported in this thread, his claim of moving on to focus on “strategy” as if that was his own plan would make a nice cover story for the public.

Does anyone please still have the original boomsauce description? Juice blanket and all.

For what it’s worth, we’ve been down to the new set up a few times recently. The place is gorgeous and I do enjoy some of the beers.

It would be pretty cool if Tony Robbins’ next book was titled,”Boomsauce”.

It’s 3 shitty books that only make sense when read together. But then they’re rereleased as a single book later on. And if you can’t afford, fuck you, write your own book.

What's up with the Taj Mahal now that the construction ban has been lifted in Boston?

One of my fondest LH memories was being outside the bar first for the day after EBF at some absurdly early morning hour and talking hardcore with the bouncer. Being first in and watching the bar fill to capacity it what I timed was 15 seconds. Those left over logs of schnozberries, pbj and whatever else went quite fast. Do they still host that? This had to be 8 or so years ago. Was actually a really fun time with the lady.

So is @Toastmalone a mere one-and-done kinda of BA? Was hoping to read a slew of unsubstantiated, anonymous gossip about LH.

One of my fondest memories of Lord Hobo was getting in around 11:30 am for Zwanze but there were no seats left so some people in our party felt like eating, so we went to CBC.

Another one is the next year when I got there around 11 am and got in with another buddy and had a Hill Farmstead Walden on draft (still no seats). But my other buddy who was late couldn't get in so we left and went to CBC.

My favorite was the year after that, in which I got there around 10ish am and the line was wrapped around the block so I had no hope of getting in. I went to Barismo and had some coffee.

Last year I got there after the Remnant Oktoberfest party and had some Cantillon on draft.

But seriously, I have enjoyed a lot of random lagers there that up until maybe five years ago, you didn't really see elsewhere.

Yes. The ol’ hit and run. If you’re going to do this, really lay it out there, bs or not, because you’re anonymous and you’ll never be back after you get it out of your system. Give us all ya got!

You know its weak when someone attacks the easiest target in at least the NE craft beer scene and it goes nowhere, taking shots at Lanigan is almost a requirement of posting anything closely related to Lord Hobo. Most people only begrudgingly admit that Lord Hobo has become a decent taproom and brewery. It should have been something absolutely nuts like the story from the movie Face/Off with Shaun Hill taking the place of Sean Archer and Lanigan taking the place of Castor Troy.

It became a decent taproom, but it's steadily on the decline. Every few months they jack up their prices (seemed like everything in their outdoor beer tent is $9 or more) and reduce their pour sizes. And their beer and food, which for a time had gotten quite good, is becoming inconsistent again. Shame they couldn't just stay the course, as it was quickly becoming one of my favorite, but oh well, what's the point of success if you can't milk all the goodwill out of it I guess.

Just clicked on this thread now that it's been resurrected and noticed that I actually kicked it off with a visit to the taproom on January 12, 2020.

This came as a large surprise since every part of my brain tells me it's been years since I've been there. Stupid pandemic.

I had that same experience in the tent when they reopened. Many beers over $9 and lower pour sizes. I'm done with it, but judging by the crowds nobody seems to mind.

Lord Hobo is like that hot girl doing cartwheels at the beach, except she isn't hot and she's too fat to do a cartwheel.
