Which Binny's? Were the single bottles new stock? (Paulaner & H-P have easy-to-read best-by dates)

How many import labels did they actually have?

On Rand Road in Lake Zurich, next to the Secretary of State office (2.5-3 hours just to get in). They had Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, and Warsteiner. Singles were new stock - my bottle read L08505.

Nice -- that's my favorite location too. Beer guy is real good.

The Paulaner back label should have a straightforward best-by date -- H-P is bottled in the same location as Paulaner, the batch I bought has 4/2021 BB dates.

just picked up a six in NJ same BB. Pretty excited to try it. Next week as long as they are still there. I’m gonna go six of paulaner (same BB) and a six of hofbrau fest (June bottling).

I'll wait and see for what my Costco will bring this year. In 2018 they had only Hacker-Pschorr. Last year in addition to H-P they brought in Hofbrau and Spaten. In the meanwhile I have 15-20-25 bottles of summer stuff to polish off.

Just found the first HB Festbier I've seen in my area -- they're the same mid-June dates as previously mentioned. That said, I'm pretty happy to see HB so fresh. I guess their import system is getting better -- at least I'm not seeing last year's batch being passed off as new stock.

I'm back on the prowl for more Marzens after blowing through the Ayinger I found. Only the first bottle tasted a bit off and the rest all seemed back up to snuff for what I expect. I've yet to see Hacker-Pschorr or Hofbrau Festbier yet but I'm definitely going to be on the lookout since the Ayinger was getting cleared out after only 2 days of being put out.

Saw Ayinger locally today; both 4-packs and single half-liter bottles. Both packaging were bottled in 2020.

Also had an HB Festbier this afternoon -- that one is as good as always... if not sneaky at 6.3 ABV!

I was just about to pick up a dunkelweizen this afternoon, just to get something different, but then I noticed the display of O'fests so I figured what the hell and got the Erdinger instead. At least I know it's fresh.

I actually thought of you at the time, too . I'll remember to post back with impressions when I get around to opening a few.

Aww -- that's not *too* creepy.

But seriously, I haven't seen the Erdinger anywhere, but I haven't been in high search mode.

Shouldn't that be Spaten on the lower right?

    Are those Paulaner cans?

Costco always carries SA in season and it actually usually sells out first, because it's 28 bottles for the same price I think.
    Paulaner is in bottles.

Hah! Yeah, not trying to cross that line but I just thought that you'd find it somewhat amusing. :sunglasses:

Come across an advertisement which likely stems from before WW2 since it specifies the beer that it advertises as Löwenbräu Märzenbier, like the advertisement above.[IMG]

Carl Moos 1912 -- so even before WW1.

    Odd glassware for Munich.

The ones worth mentioning here are Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen

Interesting. I guess glassware might have been used in fancier outlets not content with serving beer in ceramic maßkrüge.
