Where were you ? LOL, I was there about 30 minutes ago talking with Eric after I snagged the two new releases.

    Cheers,

Probably got there 20 minutes before you did. Stopped at Mitsuwa for some groceries and sushi to go.

Good God, you wonder how Evan can out do himself with his haze game after a string of next level releases and he pulls this out of his bag of tricks. This is ridiculously good on day one. Huge Nelson Citra bomb and zero booze factor for a BIG DIPA.

    Cheers,

Agreed. I generally steer clear of DIPAs once they approach the 9-10% range as they tend to be too sweet and boozy for my taste, but man, this one is fantastic! Love the Nelson/Citra combo.

Patio is fantastic. Stars for Days and Pils Titan both solid. That chopped wedge salad is great!

Sorry to get off track here, but one quick question: is the sushi made fresh or is it already packaged? Thanks.

Mitsuwa has a food court where you can grab fresh made sushi. There's also packaged options available.

I'm more of a fan of getting a bowl of udon at Mitsuwa.

Was just there yesterday and had to grab a bowl of ramen from Santouka!

Their pre-packaged sushi is actually not bad. They've got the folks in back by the produce section breaking down fish throughout the day.

Made fresh packaged daily. You can ask them to make to go if it’s not out in counter.

Did you eat ramen there? Or to go?

    Oh, to go for sure.

There are certain food items that have to eaten fresh there. And ramen is one of them for me. Hard shell tacos is another. Those and other food should be consumed at the place. Not to go. That’s just me. Beer I’m okay anytime, anyplace.

Has Santouka been allowing to-go sales? Don’t think I’ve ever seen them do that at all pre-COVID... The times they are a-changin’ (c) Bob Dylan

Yeah, they have an instruction sheet on how to prep the ramen when you get home. Ultimately they just leave the noodles separate and you add to broth and stuff yourself. It was piping hot and really good, so I'm all good.

Gonna have to try that. I don’t recall every having that. Don’t know how that slipped past me given that it’s a single-hop showcase. I’m diggin’ what GC has done with their single-hop WC IPAs.

Boring is another great west coast ipa from GC. I’ll have to stop by and pick up both, but just some HPB cans for delivery to the house today. So slight change in plans for today’s beer run. Yes as of today HPB is delivering to parts of the OC area now. I have the best of both worlds now.
