Have a good Monday. I slept all day yesterday and up all night again. I got a half baggy last night, so 2 of my friends drove over and I was pouring glasses of homebrew from my keg. It was the Irish red. So I paid for a Tinder subscription last night. I said sure why not, lets see what happens. Filled out the bio a little bit. I was mostly playing a bit of chess puzzles and watching youtube videos. Bit of music as usual. One of my friends wanted to play magic the gathering arena, but he went to sleep early I guess.

It has been a while since I even bought anything for the cellar(6+ months), but I just found 2 4 packs of Straight Jacket in the closet; 1 from 1/2019, another from 10/2019. This is the former. It is drinking beautifully. A lot more ripe fig and raisin fruits, barrel aging heat has mellowed out. Getting a nice bit of woody coconut in there as well. Sweet brown sugar and licorice. Truly a fantastic beverage. I had it rated at 4.25 in January 2019 in the can(revisited from January 2015 in the bottle), and it really is in that ballpark. Glad I can still get them in Ohio when I move!

New remaster of their EP is some good stuff. Never heard it before because it wasn't on Spotify.

Straight Jacket is an excellent pour. I have a bunch of Revolution pours at home, and may return this week for more of their Hero in Training version 3, which may at some point become a new "Hero" for them, or may never return.

Trying to finish beers over a month old, of which I have quite a few. Cigar City Jai Alai.

Enjoying the baseball season, doing very well in my public leagues. My private league switched from H2H to Rotisserie style of 2020 only due to the reduced schedule. It's twenty teams and rosters run 50 deep (1,000 players total) and 30 categories (15 hitting / 15 pitching), not for the faint of heart.

First played Rotisserie Baseball in 1985, definitely something I look forward to each Spring and Summer. I love it for math more than anything at this point, and win or lose it is very fun to play. Many injuries and Rona cases for my team this season, including a primary player down with cancer (Trey Mancini), so it's likely I will not repeat as champion.

Can't believe it's been 30 years since my brothers and I saw the Yankees pitch a no-hitter and lose, in the final season at Comiskey Park.

We were in the front row in right field, Jessie Barfield's dropped ball was right in front of us. It was very windy that day, and the Sunday lineup didn't do the Yankees any favors. Love the great memories at my favorite ballpark, and a Sox win / Yankees loss is icing on the cake. Still have the bat they gave away that day.

The Sox made history yesterday by going back to back to back to back, for only the 10th time in MLB history.

I got a good amount of these 2/2018 ones around. Plus its year round now, so there will never be a shortage again! I really need to get back into Backwoods as well, I have a number of packs over 3 years old. Anyways this is definitely harsher on the barrel tannins. now. Lots of molasses, licorice, and dark fruits going on. Still quite fantastic.

That's a very cool memory, it's rare enough to see a no hitter much less a losing no hitter. Cheers.

Bleh... Monday morning and the week is already off to a bad start. The inside HVAV unit that is only two years old and it is leaking all over. I think I got a warranty? Called the people to have them come over. I wasn't planning on drinking today but if there is ever a time for a BBA Brunch Stout it is now.

I should be in Chicago again later this fall. But for obvious reasons I think that is not going to happen. Not volunteering for any air-travel at this moment. At least not until things get back to normal somewhat.
    Cheers!
